⚡️The dog from the reconnaissance of the Marine Corps has a prosthesis
Dog Vasya of the Cane Corso breed served for several years in the reconnaissance of the Marine Corps. Once at the front, he fell into a trap and got tangled in a wire at enemy positions.
@dannymoerkerke Buuut. But you cAnT bUilD enTeRprizze applIcAtioNs with web components… being serious for a second, composed or shared style sheets will be the nail in the coffin for people starting adoption.
@MarcoNL88@dannymoerkerke@RaphiRau False? React is strongly incompatible with web components because the virtual DOM. You’re also implying vue or react is needed. The basis of a web app is a store, templating engine (jsx is framework agnostic), possibly a router since SPA is popular, although many people SSR.
As a tech lead or eng manager, you so frequently get request from above or from other teams to drop what you are doing and work on this thing they need, *now*.
During my 4 years at Uber after asking these questions, 9 out of 10 times it turned out it wasn't really urgent:
@trashproducer @realgeechidan @ccbriant @TeamBlind TC at Netflix is converging on 500k since they don’t offer RSU and offer high base salary and many Benefits in cash, like 15k stipends for healthcare etc… so Netflix is the one unicorn where their base salary is extremely high.
@INutral @BrehmRyan@kittenhawk1@laurenboebert Just like most batteries, they have a shelf life or expiration time. This is usually determined by how many times they are charged up/down. Just like that old phone we’ve all had that only stays on for 30 min… that’s a bad lithium battery. Recycling it, would mean reusing it
@imrobertosasso@slightlylate I would say the one important concept missing from any framework is, “critical render path.” I don’t believe this is taught much in traditional CS schooling, online web courses or frameworks mentioning this in their documentation. It’s left for the user to figure out
@dalicode@slightlylate I think the biggest fallacy of React is using it will get you lots of developers. I would expect a large ecosystem like React to bring lots of cohesion, standards, talent. It’s in fact quite the opposite. While there are standards, most companies continue to struggle finding devs
@dalicode@slightlylate We getting better each day and like any company there are people who know and care. It’s hard to drive things forward in a big company. But it is happening slowly!
JavaScript tip: you can use numeric separators for more readable numbers ✨
Code optimizers will remove them from your production bundles to save bytes.
@lilcrybanger Might have over thought this one… thought we were just promoting proper recycling habits by using more aluminum cans over plastic and paper because only one of those doesn’t wind up in a landfill.
Internet Explorer 11 will officially be killed off by Microsoft on June 15, 2022.
And on that day, a giant sigh of relief will be released by all developers worldwide 😂
@slightlylate For me, the benefits of using Web Components far outweigh the very small list of negatives. That small list can typically be solved or accounted for in a realistic use case, but is often written off as a "show stopper" or "blocker" by enterprise companies.
@slightlylate The ONLY thing missing for me is re-usable styles that are not duplicated across all instances of the Web Component. Waiting for -> https://t.co/vjV8gbgdZp
@slightlylate Even with this major oversight, they are still a very viable option to build your site, application or even commercial software. This grid library renders 1000's of nodes eg `zg-cell` which don't have shared styles and its still performant -> https://t.co/rTMRurJbG0
