College Freshman
1. Pick the right kids on the team to hang around
2. DO NOT get involved with the party crowd
3. Get to sleep at a reasonable time every night
4. Don't go home until Thanksgiving if school isn't in your hometown/area (plant roots and make new friends)
5. Do more than expected, be engaged and earn respect with work ethic and maturity Remember, nobody cares what you did in HS/Travel Ball, if you were drafted or who scouted you.
You're starting over.
You have to earn respect.
Back to School
HS Athletes...your job on campus is to bring students together. Be a role model, not the funny guy! Don't be the bully...be the dude that stops the bullies, and helps people look forward to coming to school instead of dreading it. Go the extra mile to help others!
The 16U Select team went 2-0 yesterday & a large contributor to that success was one of our 8th graders moving up to help out. 2027 @karsynreed3 has a very bright future! Coaches, keep an eye out for this young lady!
Every team member is responsible for the culture of the team. Everyone owns a part in that culture. It's not coach's team. It's not the starter's team. It's not so-and-so team. It's everyone's team. Everyone needs to be invested in the process.
Put this sign up in your locker room: Losers assemble in small groups and complain about coaches and players… winners assemble as a TEAM and find ways to win.
