You. Are. Killing. The. Game.
@DestinyTheGame@Destiny2Team
The longer you leave critical issues unaddressed, the more people leave, and NEVER come back.
Here's a list of issues that are imperative you mention solutions for, or at least acknowledge:
-The delay
-The roadmap
-PvP (cheaters, networking, sbmm ruining every portal mode, sandbox balance)
-The PvE meta (rocket pulses cannot continue to be straight up better than most heavies. Abilities cannot continue to make primaries worthless and everyone invincible. This is insanely boring)
-The insane communication drought
-Plans moving forward for the Portal (everyone hates it)
And lastly, the abysmal content drought we're in right now. This lack of communication hurts Marathon as well by garnering negative community sentiment from your core playerbase before the game even launches.
Please, I want this game to be good more than anyone, but the way you are handling it screams that you genuinely do not care at all.
🔮 My idea for a new Destiny 2 3v3 PvP endgame activity to replace Trials 🔮
The hype surrounding Trials is dead. It’s time for Bungie, and the community, to move on. While 3v3 elimination with zones is still a great game mode, I just don’t see Trials capturing people the way it once did, no matter what improvements and changes are made. It’s an old, tired concept. It’s seen too many changes. There’s too much confusion on how aspects of it work and people are over it. We need a fresh start for an endgame PvP mode.
Concept: “The Gauntlet” - The new Destiny 2 3v3 PvP endgame activity. The Gauntlet would be on a 3 week cycle, starting on Friday at reset just like Trials.
Week 1: Dominion as we know it.
Week 2: Carry The Stone. A large boulder/stone spawns at a central location on the map. Once a player picks it up, they can no longer use weapons or abilities. They become very slow and very heavy, but begin collecting points. Each second = 1 point. The stone cannot be dropped, so the player must die for the stone to become obtainable again. This would lead to slow rotations around the map to protected areas, and whichever team had the ball would have to consistently win 2v3s. I imagine a lot of exciting clutches and big moments as a result, and landslides becoming a bit more difficult.
Week 3: Another creative and new game mode to cycle in. You can help me brainstorm.
The Gauntlet, of course, offers new weapons and new armor. But it offers something much more exciting and new. Think of Thanos and his infinity gauntlet. This is what The Gauntlet would be built around, the idea of collecting each piece (jewel) needed to complete the gauntlet, and thus having access to the ultimate prize. An exotic weapon only obtainable through The Gauntlet, and only unlocked once each jewel is collected.
In order for there to be success and hype around an endgame PvP mode, there needs to be a serious chase. And in my opinion, there really needs to be two chases. One mostly connected to RNG and one mostly connected to winning. This keeps all levels of skills engaged and interested.
For each mode, there are 2 jewels, meaning there are 6 in total.
Jewel 1: Win 5 straight matches.
Jewel 2: Random post game drop. 1% chance on wins. 0.5% on losses.
So each week, only 2 of the 6 jewels would be available, meaning it would take a minimum of 3 weeks to complete the gauntlet, but for most it would take much much longer.
I believe the above concept does absolutely everything a Destiny 2 PvP mode needs. It makes winning matter, but not so much that less than average players feel helpless. It brings back the post game drop excitement, reminding us of the good old gally freak out days. It keeps things fresh, as we bounce between 3 different game modes on different maps, it’ll take a long time before we start feeling any staleness.
Whether you like this above idea or not, I think we can all agree: something needs to change. Just like in Y1 D2, Bungie needs to start taking some risks if they want their game to feel exciting again, and maybe the above concept can be the starting point for getting their and our creative minds flowing. Who knows, maybe we eventually get a Destiny 3 and something like The Gauntlet can launch with it instead of Trials.
I know a lot of you think it’s too little too late, or “Destiny is cooked just move on,” but a lot of us still love the game at its core and are always fighting to see it improve in anyway. I’m just a Destiny fan, what can I say. Thanks for reading, and I’d love to hear your thoughts. RT if you like please!
we been begging for ability nerfs for years and every DLC it just gets more and more potent in PvP, now more than ever ability uptime is unreal, everyone has old 100 stats in every stat
Starting with The Edge of Fate, Trials of Osiris will no longer be power enabled. While we will still have a required power level of 200 to enter, combat will not be affected by your Guardian's power.
We hope this makes Trials more approachable to a wider audience while still maintaining a competitive feel through the Passage system, maps, and mode on offer.
As a final note: Trials access requires ownership of the most recent Destiny 2 expansion; Starting July 15, players will be required to own The Edge of Fate in order to play Trials of Osiris.
🚨Edge of Fate Meta 🚨
With the Weapons stat enhanced being a damage boost (3x surges = 5.5% / Weapons max 6%).
390RPM Pulse + Desperado + Weapons Damage buff are going to have a 0.50s TTK🤯... that's faster than a current Last Word, with pulse range😬
are we cooked?
When The Edge of Fate expansion launches on July 15, the loot pool for Trials of Osiris will be refreshed to use the new Gear Tiering system with new and reprised loot.
This means that this weekend is the final chance to earn your Exalted Truth (Adept) drops before they leave the Trials of Osiris weapon rotation.
Expect more details starting next week!

Crucible/PvP Tuning - What's in flight?
Hey all,
Over the last few weeks, we've been watching (and engaging with) combat in the Crucible and taking some notes.
We've recently taken a pass on Bolt Charge due to higher damage than intended in PvP, and are just about to release (or already have depending on when you read this) some changes for Redrix's Estoc, Lightweight Pulse Rifles, On the Prowl, and Smoke effects. We have a few more weapons and abilities to tune, and we wanted to give an early heads up on where our heads are at.
1. Warlock "Snap Skating" is an unintended movement technique that gives players some great advantages in map control and general movement during combat. While this can be enjoyable (and fun to master), this presents some rough balance issues within the PvP space - not just 3v3 modes, but 6v6 as well. Additionally, this is creating issues with readability of opponents mid combat; Guardian bodies can become warped/stretched when skating, making it very difficult to fight opponents mid-skate. In a future patch, we plan to address this.
2. The Closing Time perk grants some great stats when your magazine is low, especially when enhanced on Special ammo weapons. As players always spawn in with low special ammo (for now wink wink), these stat buffs are almost always on in the Crucible, making various weapons perform a bit too well in 1v1 combat. Zealot's Reward, as an example, can hit some pretty far ranges thanks to this perk and the "always on" nature of its functionality. We plan to tune this perk, specifically on special weapons (like we have done with other perks), in a future patch.
3. Tommy's Matchbook has become a frequent conversation among our online community, and rightly so! For many years, this weapon has been a bit of a sleeper in terms of the strength of its baseline improved hip fire functionality. With the recent changes to Radiant Dance Machines, we're seeing more Hunters pulling this exotic out for some silly hip-fire-only builds. Like we did with DMT and TLW, we're going to tune this interaction in 8251, and will have more details in a future TWID. We will also be re-enabling DMT and TLW to interact with RDM with a much more limited set of buffs that do not increase range but still provide them with some amount of increased accuracy.
4. Radiant Dance Machines have surged in popularity in Crucible since the rework, but the increased usage has not been unilateral. In fact, we're seeing nearly three times the adoption on MnK (Mouse and Keyboard) compared to controller. After the recent issue with Lodestar's hip fire precision aim assist being significantly higher on MnK than controller, we dug deeper into Radiant Dance Machines setup and realized that the same issue is present, albeit in a less significant amount. In 8251, we will be normalizing the precision angle threshold bonus provided by the accuracy buff between controller and MnK when using RDMs, and have also corrected the issue in a few other places that it could appear, for example the Legacy frame intrinsic perk on Estoc and BxR. This will reduce the ease of getting critical hits when hip firing on MnK when paired with one of these items, and should bring the effectiveness more in line with controller.
5. Regarding Lighting, we've been watching the conversation around our recent Trials weekend featuring Solitude. There are a few spaces on the map, doors specifically, where players can feel blinded by exterior lighting, or have difficulty identifying enemy barricades due to the warm lighting of Mars. As such, this map won't be featured in Trials for the remainder of the season. We're also looking at examples of other maps having rough spots where it can be hard to see. While we can't promise immediate action or changes, we're looking to get some bugs filed for future opportunities to either tune the lighting or make changes to help combat in those spaces.
We're continuing to monitor various strategies and weapons within PvP and will provide additional details for future tuning passes when we can!
