Imagine standing a few metres away from a majestic silver back gorilla in it's natural home surrounded by breathtaking beauty of Uganda's tropical rainforest.

This is more than a safari, it's a lifetime adventure that touches your heart and stays with you forever

As I celebrate another year of life, my heart is full.

What better birthday gift than finding myself featured in the Tangaza Africa Tourism Pulse, published by the African Tourism Board. A whole two-page feature, highlighting my journey, my work with young people and what we are building through @GITA_Africa

For an organisation championing African tourism by encouraging us to use our own resources, destinations, networks and stories to promote Africa. Being recognised on such a platform is truly special.

My heart is full. ❤️

[Douglas @nat_douglas]

Today we do not just celebrate a birthday. We celebrate a movement.

@Jannie_jennah is not just the founder of @GITA_Africa she is the woman who decided that young women deserve a seat at the high table of tourism, and then she built that table herself.

Happy birthday Janat

Mbu Ivan Semwanga is still alive! He underwent plastic surgery and is now living in Canada.

According to my elite boda guy, if he hadn’t done all that, the mafias would have tracked him down and wiped out every trace of his existence, even if he were hiding in a hole the size of a pin! 😭😂

[Douglas @nat_douglas]

@Jannie_jennah Sorry about that

Some people own land near national parks and tourist attractions but have never thought about its potential or how they could turn it into a source of income.

That land could be an investment opportunity waiting to be explored. With the right vision and planning, it could become a campsite, an eco-lodge, a picnic site, a restaurant, or an accommodation facility.

As we continue marketing Destination Uganda, we must also help landowners understand the economic opportunities that tourism can bring to their communities.

Your land could be more than just property; it could become a business, create jobs and generate income for generations.

If you own land near a tourist attraction and would like to explore its potential, my inbox is open. Let’s talk through the possibilities.
