Today we mourn the loss of Andrew Brokes, a young Durham firefighter who died keeping people safe. Firefighter Brokes sustained fatal injuries while heroically searching for victims inside a burning building.
Flags will be lowered to half-staff in North Carolina tomorrow in honor of Firefighter Brokes. Let us keep his colleagues and loved ones in our thoughts and prayers. May his memory be a blessing.

This morning, a local Durham firefighter lost his life trying to save lives.
Our thoughts and prayers are the Durham Fire Department today and the family of our fallen firefighter.
