What a treat tasting @MissionBarns' cultivated meat products (salami and meatballs) in San Francisco earlier this month!
Congratulations to the entire team for getting the FDA no-questions letter!
List of priority research areas for the
#cultivatedmeat sector. This cites key challenges, bottlenecks, & solution spaces to reduce costs, assist in scaling, improve environmental impact, and generally build a greater foundation of knowledge to guide the trajectory of the field:
Korean startup Pensées launches food-grade culture media for the #cultivatedmeat industry.
Most leading companies already source the majority of their media ingredients at food-grade, but now solutions are being made available to research labs.
Congrats to our 2024 research grant program cohort, who will explore how starting materials ranging from crops, sidestreams, microbes, and micro/macro algae can support cellular nutrition for #cultivatedmeat
production.

ICYMI, this 1pg editorial from Nature Biotech is perhaps the most concise explainer on why cultivated meat is necessary, & why govts should be supporting it.
Surreal & wonderful to see this level of endorsement from such a reputable journal.
