🧵1/ Far-right leaders often employ tactics strikingly similar to those used by Hitler before he rose to power, albeit in a toned-down version. Let's break down how this happens:

2/ Scapegoating & Fear-Mongering: Just as Hitler blamed Jews for Germany’s woes, today’s far-right targets immigrants, Muslims, and other minorities, portraying them as threats to national security and culture. This creates fear and justifies exclusionary rhetoric.

3/ Conspiracy Theories: Hitler’s use of the "stab-in-the-back" myth is mirrored by modern far-right figures who insinuate that authorities are hiding the truth about the dangers posed by certain groups. It feeds distrust in institutions and fuels divisive narratives.

4/ Framing Violence as Protection: Hitler portrayed Nazi violence as necessary self-defense. Similarly, today’s rhetoric suggests harsh measures are needed to protect "our way of life." This may not call for direct violence but fosters an environment where hostility is seen as justified.

5/ Nationalism & Identity: Both Hitler and modern far-right leaders wrap their agendas in nationalism, using "us vs. them" narratives. It’s all about protecting national identity, often at the expense of inclusivity and unity.

6/ Exploiting Tragedies for Gain: Hitler exploited crises like the Reichstag Fire to push his agenda. Far-right figures today use tragedies to stoke fears, shift blame, and further their political goals. It’s a dangerous playbook that echoes dark chapters of history.

7/ History warns us: these tactics aren't new. By drawing these parallels, it’s clear how far-right leaders use fear and division to gain power, much like Hitler did. Let’s stay vigilant and learn from the past to safeguard our future. #NeverAgain #ResistHate #FarageRiots
