They gave me the option of an engineer (which as out of warranty I would have to pay for) but was confident I’d be able to do it myself. Not easy but I’d have used a local plumber if necessary

I don’t normally do this kind of thing but I wanted to say how amazed I have been with @quookeruk customer services. On two occasions I have had issues with long out of warranty items and Quooker have gone above and beyond to provide replacement parts. One super happy customer!
