Nate Cole

At the intersection of venture capital (Citi Impact Fund) and global affairs (Army Intel). Otherwise watching hockey, eating good food, & traveling.

@MikeSlagh Think this would benefit individuals far more than the group and attract the wrong types. Those that want to wear the uniform to feel good, check a diversity box, or add a headline to their bio. Do they get to opt out of mobilizations? Really dilutes the sacrifice of others

[Nate Cole @nate_cole_]

@NavyStrang Don’t worry, you won’t ever want to take it again after the first time. It’s ungodly bad

[Nate Cole @nate_cole_]

@Delta Flight 668 is now over 4 hours delayed. The plane has been here almost 2 hours and the crew is also at the gate ready to go. But it still keeps getting delayed. Customer service and the gate agents refuse to provide an explanation. What is happening with this flight?

[Nate Cole @nate_cole_]

@NavyStrang Might as well merge INDOPACOM and the Navy as well - too much redundant water. And while we’re at it, why does EUCOM exist when we have the Army? Lots of opportunities for land synergies.

Dumb article

@CP2Close The Venn diagram of our lives is just a circle

[Nate Cole @nate_cole_]

Don’t get me wrong, I love being a VC. But one of the cringiest things about our industry/tech is how people think they are SMEs in EVERYTHING (aka Russia/Ukraine)

[Nate Cole @nate_cole_]

@RubinoJC I had no idea a plane that large could land there..

@vc (3) Third, PLA/Chinese symbolism and the desire to take control of what they see is already theirs by some notable date. The 80th anniversary of the PRC (Oct. 2029) lines up with all three windows. So we have to think about how we can close those windows as they open.

[Nate Cole @nate_cole_]

@vc (2) First, there are really only two months per year where the conditions of Taiwan Strait support an invasion. Second, the PLA will face the same demographic cliff as the rest of the country, meaning they might have a small window where they even have the manpower to invade.

[Nate Cole @nate_cole_]

@markrmcqueen Just like the gas exec that spoke out who was found to have done a “murder suicide” with his wife and kid but there were no fingerprints on the murder weapon, no blood splatter on the “killer”, and no suicide note https://t.co/OvXHKuIhry

[Nate Cole @nate_cole_]

@RubinoJC Man I just went back to this after a few years of paychecks on the 15th/last day of every month and I forgot how unnecessarily dumb this is
