In a new article w/ @JaredCelniker & @daviddunning6, we examine a commonplace slogan: #DYOR. We spell out the slogan’s diverse meanings, its connection to conspiracy theorists (and Descartes), and argue that improving inquiry calls for greater humility.

A remarkable interview with a remarkable person And by one too, I add. @nathanballan spends months on these things, getting the questions right and teasing things out of his subjects that no one else has ever managed to do. Read this one, and then read them all.
@nathanballan Maddy taught by undergraduate set theory class at UCI way back in 2003. I was a thoroughly unremarkable student, but I learned a lot in that class. I still reference my old class notes from time to time when I get confused about, e.g., bijection vs. injection.

My friend Andrew Bailey (@resistancemoney) spoke at the final Yale-NUS graduation ceremony. Today, the college will close following the graduation of its Class of 2025. Andrew’s words are wise, heartfelt, and at moments funny.
Goodbye, Yale-NUS.
