Last week, I attended a workshop with the Ministry of Health in Brazil, discussing the construction of the data repository and platform for the Genomas Brasil Program. The Program aims to unravel the Brazilian genetics and advancing genomics and precision medicine in our country.

We discussed the applicability of models used in other countries like Australia and the UK, data sensitivity, ethical considerations, repository scaling, data storage, and many other topics. All of this with various experts from different fields.

Working on a meta-analysis of HER2+ breast cancer genomic data. Concerned by the number of papers lacking study population descriptions. Genetic data must accompany population details! Nationality, ancestry, ethnicity... it all matters greatly!
