🎙️ “When Bukayo went off injured and the manager called me to come on, Mikel had a little joke with me. He told me to imagine I was playing against Tottenham because he knows how much I love those games and the kind of performances I usually put in against them. 😂

“He knows that I always have that extra motivation when I face Spurs, so he told me to bring that same energy onto the pitch. Obviously, he was joking, but the message was clear. He wanted me to come on with confidence, express myself and make something happen for the team.

“That’s one thing I really appreciate about Mikel. He knows how to connect with his players, even in difficult moments. Losing Bukayo to an injury was not ideal for us, but the manager trusted me to come on and do my job. I just wanted to help the team, create chances and give the fans something to enjoy.

“When your manager believes in you like that, you have to repay his trust on the pitch.”
