Tried to get some marbled salamander footage for an upcoming video and lucked into this beautiful mud salamander sharing a log with 7 marbled salamanders on their eggs! The best encounters in nature are the ones you least expect!

@SnakeAdvocate @TimberTweets @OSUEnvironment @Peterman_Lab @ohiodnr Thanks! These were Moultrie M-888 cameras. We mostly used them to passively sample prey density across the landscape (because they are cost effective) but they did pretty well on dens and at gestation sites too.

@jefethebird @TimberTweets I believe I found a free photo stitching software online a few years back, but had to stitch the daytime clips together last week and just used Windows Movie Maker. It was actually more flexible and user friendly than whatever program I used before!
