Dehing Patkai WLS and its surrounding Rainforest is the last remaining pristine Rainforest of Assam. Only 111.19 sq km protected area is not sufficient to conserve its rich biodiversity. It's the home of many endangered species.

CM Shri @sarbanandsonwal announced upgradation of the Poba Reserve Forest in Dhemaji to a Wildlife Sanctuary in a meeting with senior officials of Lakhimpur, Dhemaji and Majuli districts at Jonai.

The CM was reviewing the flood, erosion & #COVID19 situation of the districts.

Our Govt has decided to upgrade the Dehing Patkai Wildlife Sanctuary in Assam, which is home to a vast variety of flora and fauna, to a National Park.

In a meeting with senior officials in Guwahati today, I have directed them to take necessary steps in this regard.
