BREAKING Dec 31: While we still can get them almost 17000 cases, 30% positivity 1144 in hospital WORST YET! With little testing going forward let's be grateful for getting any information @jkwan_md
@fordnation Thanks for abandoning us with the new covid guidelines! I definitely don't feel any much safer after yesterday's press conference! (What a great feeling to have on New Years Eve!)
@fordnation@fordnation & his useless MPPs have abdicated all responsibility to govern. He refuses to speak directly to Ontarians, quite content to sacrifice children & elders to appease his anti-vaxxwer supporters, friends & family, & is a terrible, horrible human being. #FordfailedOnt
It’s New Year’s Eve & the GO VAXX Bus is here in #Vaughan helping to immunize students ahead of the return to class.
I thanked the staff for working tirelessly at this appointment based clinic.
Let’s start 2022 with added protection for the sake of our schools & communities.
Ontario schools won't be safe to open right now while:
- Omicron continues to rip thru like a hot knife in butter
- Key upgrades to ventilation, masks for all still absent
- vaccination gaps persist
- testing capacity broken
Hope can't deliver #SafeSchools
You Know Things are Bad Dec 31: in #Ontario when #Alberta is more cautious in opening schools than here, when @jkenney is more pro-science than @fordnation
I want my kids in school but Jan 5 doesn't make sense.
If we wait 1-2 weeks we can:
-prioritize boosters for ed workers
-more vax 1/2 for 5-11
-shore up RAT and N95 supply chains
-hopefully see Omicron peak pass before adding gasoline to the fire
-blunt the wave hitting hospitals
I knew Doug Ford would be a huge disaster before he even got elected. What he didn’t know was, there was pandemic on the horizon and his lack of qualifications, education and his incompetence would be his demise because of it. He thought it would be a walk in the park.
Let's also not forget that the Ford government told his Ontario Public Service employees to work from home until February. They've already been working from home nearly the entire pandemic.
Everyone else...get out there and work.
Just took a skim through Erin O'Toole's tweets last few weeks. Not one single tweet supporting vaccines, masks, people doing all they can to avoid infection. Not One Single One.
He's here for Erin - not for You.
@ArleneDickinson Thank you!! After being floored and angered by Ontario's decision yesterday to leave us high and dry, I am (hopefully) choosing a kind and caring approach from now on. We WILL get through this!
Try to remember that even as we fear Covid we must not fear each other as people. We are more alike than different so show kindness, generosity and grace. Social distancing doesn’t mean letting go of humanity and care for one another. That is the hope we can all have for 2022.
