The numbers seem to suggest a straight switch: BJP+TMC is roughly where it was 5 years ago (Slide 1)

But, there's a much bigger anti-TMC swing in the top 10 Muslim-majority seats (Slide 2).

If that trend is true for the Muslim vote in general, then TMC's drop in vote-share would be roughly split equally between Hindus and Muslims.

That suggests, BJP managed to get more Hindu votes from Cong and LF, than it did from TMC.

On the other hand, Cong and LF gained a big chunk of Muslim votes from TMC.

Only detailed post-poll surveys and analysis can tell us what really happened.
