Manoj Madhusudhanan took a ₹1.86 crore home loan from ICICI Bank.

As collateral, he handed over his original property documents. Every homebuyer does this. You have no choice.

ICICI Bank sent those documents to their storage facility in Hyderabad via courier. Somewhere on that journey — Bangalore to Hyderabad — the documents vanished.

Gone. Originals. Irreplaceable.

When Manoj found out, ICICI Bank had one answer: it was the courier company's fault. Not ours.

He went to the Banking Ombudsman. They told ICICI to publish a public notice about the loss and pay him ₹25,000 for the trouble.

Twenty-five thousand rupees. For losing the original documents to a ₹1.86 crore property.

Manoj sent a legal notice. ICICI denied any mistake.

He went to the NCDRC.

The apex consumer court looked at the facts. The bank had taken custody of the documents. The bank had chosen the courier. The bank could not hand that liability to a third party and walk away.

ICICI Bank — India's second-largest private bank, ₹9 lakh crore in assets — was held liable. Ordered to obtain reconstructed certified copies, issue an indemnity bond, and pay ₹25 lakh in compensation.

One loan. One lost file. One bank that blamed the courier.

Save this — if your bank loses your original property documents, they cannot blame their courier agent. The documents were in their custody. The liability is theirs. File at your district consumer forum. The law is on your side.

Couple of days ago, Dusharla Satyanarayana was beaten up and left to bleed in his farm.

Who is Dusharla Satyanarayana?

A 72 year old man who inherited 70 acres of ancestral land in Raghavapuram, Suryapet, Telangana.

He didn’t sell it or make it a real estate venture, instead he resigned to his plush bank job and took up a full time work to repair the environment.

He planted FIVE CRORE trees in the land, all by himself.

He also dug 13 ponds and small lakes in this forest. He developed rainwater harvesting system in his forest.

He doesn’t sell the agri-products, he says every fruit / flower / leaf that grows in this forest belongs to the animals, birds and the forest itself.

At least 32 varieties of birds made this forest their home, along with numerous animals.

When Nalgonda district was suffering because of Fluorosis, he started an NGO Jala Sadhana Samithi and worked intensively to educate people about the problems. He made government to listen to the water crisis and brought in policy changes.

Dusharla Satyanarayana doesn’t even pluck a fruit for himself from the forest. And he decided not to give his land to his son also!

People offered him hundreds of crores for the land and he flatly refused. He family and neighbours fought with him but he never gave up caring for nature and his forest.

Three days ago, a few men thrashed him because he stopped them from cutting trees in his forest. He told them not to destroy the nature. These men are neighbouring villagers who want to graze their cattle and cut the trees for their needs.

Dusharla Satyanarayana is now getting treated at a government hospital in Hyderabad.

Wishing him a very speedy recovery.

Her name was Shehla Masood.

She was 38 years old, lived in Bhopal, and ran an event management company.

Then in 2009, she discovered the RTI Act.

She filed over 200 RTI applications in two years. She exposed illegal construction happening in plain sight. She fought to save tigers being poached by the very forest officers meant to protect them. She took on Rio Tinto, a global mining giant sitting on 27.4 million carats of diamonds inside a protected forest in Chhattarpur. Two district collectors were transferred to make that mining happen. She filed RTIs, went to parliament, and stopped it.

A month before she died, she gave an interview. She said she feared for her life but would not stop, because the nexus between politicians and babus was slowly poisoning this country.

On August 16, 2011, she sat in her car outside her home, about to leave for an Anna Hazare rally.

A hired gunman shot her once through the throat.

The CBI said the motive was a love triangle. Four people were convicted and sentenced to life. The mining angle was never investigated.

Her father told investigators that high profile people had conspired to kill his daughter.

Nobody listened.

She was posthumously given the SR Jindal Crusade Against Corruption Award, an honour shared with APJ Abdul Kalam.

India rewarded her with a bullet, then gave her an award, then forgot her name.

ఢిల్లీలో ఒక మల్టీనేషనల్ కంపెనీలో మేనేజర్‌గా పనిచేస్తూ, లక్షల్లో జీతం తీసుకునే ఒక యువకుడు తన కుటుంబంతో కలిసి వారం రోజుల విహారయాత్ర కోసం లడఖ్ వెళ్లాడు. అక్కడ వారికి కేటాయించిన డ్రైవర్ సుమారు 28 ఏళ్ల యువకుడు. అతనికి వృద్ధాప్యంలో ఉన్న తల్లిదండ్రులు, భార్య, ఇద్దరు కుమార్తెలు ఉన్నారు.

ప్రయాణంలో వారి మధ్య ఈ విధంగా సంభాషణ జరిగింది:

పర్యాటకుడు: “ఈ వీకెండ్‌తో టూరిస్ట్ సీజన్ అయిపోతుంది కదా.. ఆ తర్వాత నువ్వు ఏం చేస్తావు? గోవా, ఢిల్లీ లాంటి పెద్ద నగరాల్లో హోటల్స్ లో పనికి వెళ్తావా?”
డ్రైవర్ (యువకుడు): “లేదు సార్, నేను ఇక్కడే ఉంటాను. లడఖ్ వదిలి నేను ఎక్కడికీ వెళ్లను.”

పర్యాటకుడు: “కానీ ఇక్కడ శీతాకాలం చాలా భయంకరంగా ఉంటుంది కదా.. అప్పుడు నువ్వు ఏం చేస్తావు?”

యువకుడు: “పెద్దగా ఏమీ లేదు సార్.. నేను సియాచిన్ వెళ్తాను.”
నేను సియాచిన్ వెళ్తాను.”

పర్యాటకుడు (ఆశ్చర్యంగా): “సియాచినా? అది ఇక్కడి కంటే ఎంతో చలిగా ఉంటుంది కదా!”

యువకుడు: “అవును సార్, నేను అక్కడ భారత సైన్యానికి ‘లోడర్’ (బరువులు మోసేవాడు)గా వెళ్తాను. ఇది కాంట్రాక్ట్ ఉద్యోగం. నా లాంటి కొంతమంది ఇక్కడి నుండి సియాచిన్ బేస్ క్యాంప్ వరకు సుమారు 250 కిలోమీటర్లు నడిచి వెళ్తాము. దానికి 15 రోజులు పడుతుంది. అక్కడ మెడికల్ టెస్టులు చేస్తారు, పాస్ అయితే యూనిఫామ్, బూట్లు, హెల్మెట్ ఇస్తారు. అలా అక్కడ 3 నుండి 4 నెలలు ఉండి పని చేస్తాం.”
పర్యాటకుడు: “అక్కడ మీరు చేసే పని ఏమిటి?”

యువకుడు: “మేము సామాగ్రిని మోస్తాం. సైన్యం హెలికాప్టర్ల ద్వారా ఆహారం, ఇతర వస్తువులను జారవిడుస్తుంది. ఆ వస్తువులను మేము వీపున వేసుకుని ఒక పోస్ట్ నుండి మరొక పోస్ట్‌కు చేరవేస్తాం. అదంతా మంచు పలకల (Glaciers) ప్రాంతం. ట్రక్కులు వెళ్లలేవు. స్నో స్కూటర్లు శబ్దం చేస్తాయి, అది శత్రువులకు తెలిసిపోయే ప్రమాదం ఉంది. అందుకే మేము తెల్లవారుజామున 2 గంటలకు బయలుదేరుతాం. టార్చ్ లైట్లు కూడా వాడకూడదు. నిశ్శబ్దంగా, చీకటిలో నడవాలి. అక్కడ గుర్రాలు, గాడిదలు కూడా బ్రతకలేవు. -50°C చలిలో, 18,000 అడుగుల ఎత్తులో ఏ జంతువు ప్రాణాలతో ఉండలేదు.”

పర్యాటకుడు: “అక్కడ ఆక్సిజన్ కూడా తక్కువగా ఉంటుంది కదా.. అంత బరువు ఎలా మోస్తారు
యువకుడు: “అందుకే 15 కేజీల కంటే ఎక్కువ బరువు ఇవ్వరు. మేము రోజుకు కేవలం రెండు గంటలు మాత్రమే పని చేస్తాము. మిగిలిన సమయం అంతా శరీరాన్ని ప్రాణాలతో ఉంచుకోవడానికే సరిపోతుంది.”

పర్యాటకుడు: “ఇది ప్రాణాలతో చెలగాటం కదా..”

ఆ యువకుడు కాసేపు మౌనంగా ఉండి ఇలా అన్నాడు: “నా స్నేహితులు చాలా మంది తిరిగి రాలేదు. కొందరు మంచు లోయల్లో పడిపోయారు, మరికొందరు శత్రువుల కాల్పుల్లో చనిపోయారు. అన్నిటికంటే పెద్ద ప్రమాదం ‘ఫ్రాస్ట్ బైట్’ (అత్యధిక చలి వల్ల శరీర భాగాలు కుళ్ళిపోవడం). నిజం చెప్పాలంటే అక్కడ మరణం అనివార్యం అనిపిస్తుంది.”

పర్యాటకుడు: “అయితే మీకు జీతం చాలా బాగా ఇస్తారేమో?”

యువకుడు: “నెలకు ₹18,000. సైన్యం మా ఖర్చులన్నీ చూసుకుంటుంది. మూడు నెలల్లో నేను 50 వేల వరకు దాచుకోవచ్చు. నా కుటుంబం గడవడానికి అది చాలు. అన్నింటికంటే మించి.. మన దేశం కోసం, మన సైన్యం కోసం ఏదో చేశామన్న తృప్తి మిగులుతుంది.”
ఆ మాట వినగానే ఢిల్లీ నుండి వచ్చిన పర్యాటకుడు నిశ్శబ్దమైపోయాడు. ఏసీ రూముల్లో ఉంటూ, 50 లక్షల ప్యాకేజీ తీసుకుంటున్న తను, ఆ యువకుడి ముందు చాలా చిన్నవాడిగా అనిపించాడు.

మనం నేర్చుకోవాల్సిన పాఠం:

-50°C చలిలో, 18,875 అడుగుల ఎత్తున, మృత్యు నీడలో ఆ యువకుడికి రోజుకు ₹600 కూలీ చాలా “పెద్దది”గా కనిపిస్తోంది.

దేశం కోసం ఏదో ఒకటి చేస్తున్నామనే ఆ భావనే వారి జీవితానికి అర్థాన్ని ఇస్తోంది.

సోషల్ మీడియాలో విషం చిమ్మేవారు, రాజకీయాల కోసం దొంగల కోసం ఉన్మాదులుగా ప్రవర్తించే వాళ్ళు, అనవసర ట్రోల్స్ బూతులతో గడిపేవాళ్ళు, నగరాల్లో కూర్చుని ఉపన్యాసాలు ఇచ్చేవారు.. ఆ గడ్డకట్టే చీకటిలో పది నిమిషాలు కూడా నిలబడలేరు.

దేశభక్తి అంటే కేవలం నినాదాలు చేయడం కాదు. అది త్యాగం, క్రమశిక్షణ, బాధ్యత నుండి పుడుతుంది.
మనం సుఖంగా పడుకున్నామంటే, అర్థరాత్రి 2 గంటల సమయంలో ఆ గడ్డకట్టే మంచులో మన కోసం ఎవరో భారాన్ని మోస్తున్నారని గుర్తుంచుకుందాం.

వారు ఉన్నారు కాబట్టే.. మనం ఉన్నాం!

A Middle Class Person wants to Buy 2 Wheeler for his family. He works hard, saves money & test rides a TVS Jupiter. He feels it is good for his small family.

He enquires the cost.

Ex Showroom Price is ₹76000. He realizes that this price includes 18% GST (around ₹11000). 18% YES, THAT'S RIGHT. Base Price is around ₹65000.

₹13000 Road Tax + Registration. Both PAID TO Government.

₹6000 for a Motor Insurance (18% GST ~₹1000 to Govt). Yes that is 18% GST.

Accessories ₹5000 (GST included)

So, now he totally has to pay ₹1,00,000.

He calculates that he eventually pays 70% to Dealer, 5% to Insurance company & 25% to Government. He has already paid 20%-30% tax to the Government in the First Place 😀😀

He feels a bit let down. But then he asks himself:

- Why am I Paying 18% GST on a 2 Wheeler when I have paid 20%-30% Tax already on my income?
- Why am I Paying 18% GST on Motor Insurance when this is supposed to Protect me in case of Accident?
- I am not taking any Loan, but still I Pay almost ₹25000 to Government just to buy a Vehicle for my Family. I pay ₹70000 to the Vehicle Dealer & ₹5000 to the Insurer. They also have to make some money out of it.

So I am actually paying Government so much for the Vehicle.

He asks these questions, but realizes that he is Middle Class. He pays the Taxes, buys the Vehicle, Takes Photograph & Goes Home to Enjoy with Family. He goes back to Work the next day, so that he can afford many other things. Cycle Continues...

Seshachalam Forest is not merely a forest; it is the sacred abode of Lord Balaji, blessed by the seven holy hills. And here, in this divine place, a heinous crime is being committed against our nation, our economy, our faith and our environment.

We speak of the Red Sanders tree. This incredible wealth, this Rakta Chandanam, is found nowhere else on Earth. It is a unique treasure, and it carries the spiritual weight of our people. Legends say it emerged from the divine blood of Lord Venkateswara himself! To cut this tree is not just a forestry crime—it is a spiritual desecration!

These trees are not lifeless wood. We know from the work of the great Indian scientist, Sir Jagadish Chandra Bose, that plants feel pain and shock. They live in a community, what the German forester Peter Wohlleben calls the "Wood-Wide Web." They share, they communicate, they protect each other.

When a mother tree is felled, the entire network shudders with an agonizing electric shock. The criminals who wield the axe are tearing apart a living, sacred community! They see only the red treasure, but we see the wounded faith of millions!

The recent inspection of the godowns at the Mangalam Depot reflected a chilling testament to the plunder of the last few years. It is a silent graveyard. 2.6 lakh logs—the severed remains of an estimated 1.3 lakh Mother trees—stolen, butchered, and stacked as numbered inventory. The financial theft alone is staggering: ₹2,000 crore, perhaps ₹5,000 crore, stolen directly from the State Exchequer and our national future! This is money that belongs to our people, money that should be building roads, schools and hospitals.

But this raises critical questions

How can a few people encroach on forest lands so easily?
Who gives them the audacity to cut down the red sandalwood trees without fear?
How do they smuggle them in broad daylight, escaping from the police, the security, the government agencies, and the community around the forest?

The answers point to systemic failure and a terrible lack of political will in the past. We must stop asking why and start demanding justice.

It’s time all those culprits faced the law and its consequences! No more can individuals treat these ancient forests as gardens in their backyards or treat the Endangered Red Sanders as their personal property.

Our coalition government will not tolerate the smuggling of Red Sanders any longer. We are identifying the smugglers, kingpins and all culprits involved. We will not just arrest them; we will seize their assets under the Forest Act!

A special, full-fledged operation, similar to the Centre's 'Operation Kagar,' to wipe out every single individual involved in this illegal trade shall be initiated soon. We will ensure fear among the smugglers so that no one, no one, dares to touch a single Red Sanders tree again.

The Red Sanders is a life that feels, it is our national wealth, and it is sacred. We are watching, and we will protect the wealth of our nation and the divine sanctity of Seshachalam!
