The Conservative Case for changing the filibuster rule
I thought I agreed with the advantage of that the 60 vote filibuster rule gives for the minority party in the Senate.
It frustrated me when the D’s were in power. But I was grateful when the R’s were in power.
But I want to make the case for why it is time for this rule to go away, and why I think all of us should be willing to live with the consequences irrespective of who is in charge.
Currently, the party in charge of the congress can pass a monster reconciliation bill (that only needs a simple majority in the senate) once a year. Because they can only get one bill like this passed a year, you can see why the party in charge fills it with massive pork barrel spending.
Biden/Schumer/Pelosi passed massive spending (and full of pork and random crap) bills each year from 21-24.
Trump/Thune/Johnson have passed one massive spending (and full of pork and random crap) so far in 25, and we are on path to 3 more in 26-28.
Most of us want the Congress to pass SINGLE TOPIC bills that they can be held responsible for. And the president can sign or veto and be held responsible for.
The legislative and executive branch tend to love the current crazy setup. You really only can pass these crazy bills because “single topic” bills have so little chance of getting thru congress and getting signed. Yes, there are limited examples of single item bills, but they are few and between.
The congress can put in pork that the president doesn’t want to sign, but forcing him with the single bill.
The president can force congress to put things into the bill that the congressmen cannot be held responsible for as “they had to approve the massive bill or else!”
Getting rid of the current 60 vote filibuster rule actually lets us citizens hold congress and the president for account for what they do (or do not do).
I’m confident that on the surface, each side will hate it when their party is out of power. But the current filibuster rule is allowing the Senate (and hence the Congress) to hide behind it to accomplish nothing.
The current filibuster rule leads to:
Massive reconciliation bills that are 1000’s of pages
Delayed spending bills
Massive bills where congress is expected to vote on it without any hope of understanding what is in the bill
And candidly, this is likely the only enabler that gives us a hope of getting the congress to pass 1-2 page bills; not mega-pork.
This will have to be a groundswell activity by citizens as the current situation empowers all of the bad actors to do nothing and not be held accountable.
It is time for a change. The current situation is broken. Let’s try something that I would have said was unthinkable in the past.
Stop the 60 vote filibuster rule. Let the senate operate on a simple majority. And enable voters to hold Congress and the President accountable for their voting.
There is a strange situation happening right now that there is a fear of voting no.
I don’t actually know if D voters want single item bills, but I know it is a widely held desire from R voters to pass single item bills.
Here it is:
Devin Nunez VINDICATED.
Twenty CIA and FBI agents have blown the whistle, confirming that Barack Hussein Obama and his Chief of Staff, CIA Director John Brennan, created the false Russia hoax, doctored intelligence to overthrow the duly elected president of the United States in 2016, and locked the report in a CIA vault for nearly a decade.
On March 21, 2017, Devin Nunes traveled to the White House and informed President Trump that he was being overthrown.
The following day, March 22, 2017, he stood alone, holding an unexpected press conference confirming that Barack Obama had spied on Trump and the Trump campaign.
On April 17, 2017, Devin Nunes was forced to resign from the House Intelligence Committee’s Obama-Russia inquiry—because Paul Ryan is a treacherous piece of garbage.
Now, give the man the Presidential Medal of Freedom—at once.
FAFO 🚨
Any Senator who holds pro forma sessions for John Thune, so he can continue to block Trump from having recess appt's, gets voted out
Thune's first session is set to be held Monday
Let the @SenateGOP hear from you, they'll see this... stand with Trump or lose your job
I finally figured out what's wrong with "everything."
It's a system problem. The introduction of Trump into the system(s) broke almost everything, and in multiple ways.
The fake news created a White Supremacist hysteria, which led to the Fine People Hoax and the George Floyd Hoax, which led to massive DEI, which led to massive systemic incompetence in all of our systems at once.
Add wokeness and cancelation and we can't discuss the issue, much less fix it. That's a system problem. The corrective mechanism (free speech) has been removed.
On top of that, the Trump experience has made it clear all of our government systems are corrupt. They probably always were, but as long as we didn't notice, things limped along okay.
Now we notice.
Now we don't accept "the science" we know is corrupt. We don't accept the omnibus bills we know are corrupt. We don't accept the foreign wars that look sketchy. We don't accept elections we can't fully audit. We don't trust the news, for good reason. We don't trust our intel services to not be agents of one party. And we see the justice departments weaponized.
While all that happened Soros found a way to take control of all American systems via funding of non-government entities and integrating them into the American systems.
But at the head of the snake is the fake news and fake science. There is no correcting mechanism.
The X platform is the only counterforce, and that's why the crooks are trying to take it out, and Musk at the same time.
America is a Judeo-Christian civilization
People here must always be free to believe—or not believe—as they choose
Nevertheless, we should never abandon or forget our status as a Judeo-Christian nation—a without-which-not key to America’s success
Last week, we got a stark visual of what the midterms are actually about.
➡️ Spain saw an invasion of 60,000 migrants.
➡️ Mamdani waged class warfare on middle class homeowners.
➡️ The Fauci-led abuse of our civil liberties was revealed in all its gory details.
This is the Democrats' agenda: the theft of your God given right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.
The two sore losers, Sens. Cornyn and Tillis, are holding up President Trump's nomination, Todd Blanche, for attorney general.
These same two senators voted in favor of Merrick Garland under the Biden administration.
This tells us all we need to know. Good riddance to these two.
Do realize how rare it is to have a Republican trifecta control of the House, Senate, and White House?
It’s only happened 5 times in the last century.
1920s under Harding and Coolidge.
1955-57 under Eisenhower
2003-07 under Bush after 9/11
2017-19 under Trump 1.0
2025 - present under Trump 2.0
These windows are precious and too easily squandered (just look at how the neocons destroyed the Bush years).
We must make this one count.
Replace Thune, cancel August recess, and pass the SAVE America Act.
Nationwide Court injunctions:
4 years of Carter: 2
8 years of Reagan: 12
4 years of H Bush: 6
8 year of Clinton: 12
8 years of W Bush: 6
8 years of Obama: 12
4 years of Biden: 14
44 years of previous Presidents there were 64.
5.5 years of President Trump: 114
Activists Robes.
If you want to step back in time to recall what it was like when people doubting the Gospel of Fauci were being exterminated from the Internet, this supercut is for you:
Notice what how the Left labels things.
Europeans are Colonizers.
But…
Africans are Migrants.
Middle Easterners are Refugees.
Central Americans are Immigrants.
All by design…
Never forget how the press tried to gaslight you. One type of mass gathering was perfectly OK and the other was a Covid mass spreader event. These two posts were an hour apart.

Dr Fauci and Mr. Science
The Fauci files reveal not just a sociopathic narcissist, but also a pathological schizophrenic.
For years, Fauci was assuring the public of Covid narratives that he either knew were untrue, or knew little about.
He posed as a non-partisan, even as he collaborated with the leftwing cable news grandees and liberal columnists to hound his enemies and magnify his godhead.
From the virus’s origins and effects of the lockdowns, to the efficacy of the mRNA vaccinations to the always changing 0/1/2 masks wearing protocols, Fauci used his massive government agency, and sycophantic media, to promote his always fluid narratives by punishing enemies and rewarding friends—on the basis of their loyalty to Dr. “I represent science”.
He seemed to be obsessed with firing White House Covid advisor Scott Atlas, and demonizing Jay Bhattacharya, Sunetra Gupta and Martin Kulldorff—for the crimes of questioning the Fauci party line.
These critics were not radical “let it rip” herd immunologists as the Fauci camp caricatured them, but circumspect, cost-to-benefit doctors and savvy health policy analysts.
Their views, if embraced, might have avoided a multibillion-dollar global shutdown that wrecked economies—especially derailing the booming 4th quarter 2019 Trump economy—increased the death toll, destroyed millions of livelihoods, harmed perhaps permanently the education of millions U.S. children, and was hardly based on the “science”.
And what exactly were the so-called extremist views of Atlas, Bhattacharya, and others?
Healthy children were not at great risk from Covid—but keeping them isolated drained away key resources from the elderly and sick who certainly were vulnerable.
And the nationwide school closures had profound negative effects on children and teens as did the lockdowns on the general population.
Substance and familial abuse soared, small businesses were ruined, and children’s formative educational years were lost.
24/7 mask wearing was neither practical nor necessary as opposed to their beneficial use by health care workers in close proximities.
The experimental mRNA vaccinations may have initially saved lives, but they were not, as billed by Fauci and the pharmaceutical companies, lasting protection from either infectiousness or being infected.
And certainly the repeated booster regimens for some could pose serious health risks.
Herd immunity was not some crank idea, as the Fauci school libeled these experts, but, along with the initial vaccinations, were time-tested medical realities that would mitigate the toxicity of the pandemic.
We have seen a lot of obscene hoaxes recently that changed national events: the loony Jussie Smollett caper; the phony “Steele dossier”; the “51 intelligence authorities” and the Russian-produced Hunter Biden laptop con; and the media fabricated effigy of Joe Biden as “fit as a fiddle”.
But Fauci’s effort to attribute the virus to a bat or pangolin publicly, while privately accepting from his own consultants that it likely was birthed in the Wuhan lab’s gain of function research—which he had helped to support via Peter Daszak—and the policies that resulted from that initial lie, proved literally for thousands a matter of life and death.
