@EricaCoutable @TheRAC_UK My son has been waiting 7 hours, just been told he’s unlikely to be recovered until 8am when businesses open - that will be 14 hours in freezing temperatures. It’s disgraceful!

Many people, including my daughter are stranded as they failed to transit through @JFKairport because of delays. They cannot access food courts because they have no flight/ can’t check in. @VirginAtlantic desk is closed - no one to help! What a bleak Christmas Day they face.

@BBCNews @edwardjsault after catching covid and being unable to travel to my daughter in New Zealand, she tried to come home for Christmas. She is now stranded in New York. We couldn’t make this up!!

@JFKairport Terminal 4. And there is no one at the virgin Atlantic desk so she can’t get a new flight sorted. Many of her fellow passengers are stranded with her. No refreshments, nothing, and after a long flight from New Zealand.

@JFKairport my daughter is stuck in the customs queue and has just missed her connecting flight to London after a 2.5 hour delay sitting on the tarmac waiting for a gate to be available. No staff around. What’s taking so long at customs? What will she do now?
