The inception meeting for the 3-year consortium project “Strengthening Educational Inclusion for Girls and Women with Visual Impairment in and out of school” is underway.
The project will be implemented by @NUDIPU , in partnership with Uganda Society of the Disabled Children (USDC), with support from Christian Blind Mission (CBM), across Nebbi, Masindi, Masaka & Jinja.
We will reach 10 schools and 500 learners, including 350 girls (70%) and 150 boys (30%) with visual impairment.
Together, we aim to challenge disability stigma, empower women and girls with disabilities to participate fully in their communities, and amplify their voices in decision-making at district and national levels.
Inclusive education. Empowered voices. Equal participation.

@NCDCUg joins the people of Tooro and the nation at large in mourning the passing of His Majesty Omukama Oyo Nyimba Kabamba Iguru Rukidi IV. May His Majesty’s soul rest in eternal peace.
We join Ugandans in mourning a champion of education whose 31-year reign inspired a generation. The Ministry of Education and Sports stands with Tooro Kingdom in this difficult time.
Omukama Atulize. Enkuba Etutire.
May His Soul Rest in Eternal Peace.
Fellow Ugandans, especially the Bazzukulu,
It is with a lot of sadness that, on the behalf of all Ugandans, Maama Janet and myself, I extend our most heart-felt condolences to the Royal Family of Tooro and to all Ugandans on account of the death of the prominent Muzzukulu, His Highness Oyo, the King of Tooro at such a young age of 34. How unfair life can be!! He was orphaned while still young and he has died young.
In the short life on earth, he had shown that he had potential of working well with the Central and Local Governments to develop Tooro. What a loss to Tooro and Uganda.
Some months back, Her Royal Highness Kemigisa, Nyinomukama, came to tell me that the Muzzukulu Oyo had cancer that was very aggressive. The Government supported them to go to Germany and, then, the USA where he died.
This morning, we held a consultative meeting with the @NCDCUg, to contribute to the development of a Teacher Handbook for managing large classrooms.
The meeting gave us a chance to share our perspectives & help develop a resource that addresses the realities teachers face.
