Heading to a college camp soon? 🏟️ Here’s how to stand out before you even step on the field.

The biggest separators at camps happen before and after the event. 👀

Before camp, send a well-thought-out email to the coach, and if you can, schedule time to connect before you arrive. A one-on-one conversation can be a true separator. 📧

Then go out there, perform, and make the most of a great opportunity. 💪

Camp isn’t just about what you do the day of. It’s about showing coaches you’re prepared, professional, and serious about their program. 💙

Share with a teammate who has a camp coming up, and follow for more great tips!

Parents, have you heard about NCSA's MVP+ membership? 👀

With NCSA’s MVP membership, your athlete works one-on-one with a personal recruiting coach who’s been in their shoes and can guide them from their first step to their commitment. 🤝

MVP+ goes a step further by adding a personal mental performance or nutritition coach from IMG Academy+. That coach helps sharpen the mental and nutrition side of your athlete’s game, so they can build confidence and improve performance. 💪🧠

In a competitive recruiting landscape, that extra support can make a real difference. 💙

Got a phone call coming up with a college coach? 📞 Here’s how to know what to ask.

Your first call? Keep it simple. Ask about the players, the program, and the success of the team. Don’t try to get too far ahead.

Further along in the process, like your second, third, or fourth conversation? That’s when topics like visits, offers, and roster spots may come up. 🤝

The key is to let where you are in the conversation guide how serious your questions get. 💙

💾 Save this for the next time you’re prepping for a call with a coach.

Parents, are you falling for any of these college recruiting myths? 👀

❌ MYTH #1: Every recruiting process is the same.
✅ Not one family has had the exact same experience. Keep it personal and lay the groundwork that fits your athlete’s goals.

❌ MYTH #2: Recruiting starts junior year.
✅ Waiting can mean missed opportunities. Be proactive and take the initiative early in high school.

❌ MYTH #3: It’s the parents’ process.
✅ It’s the student-athlete’s process. You’re their biggest supporter, but at the end of the day, your athlete is the one who needs to drive it. 💙

Remember these three things as you guide your athlete through the college recruiting journey.

Putting together your highlight video? 🎥 Here’s what to know if you want to catch a coach's attention!

✅ Don’t stress about the music. Coaches don't care. Most watch on mute 🔇
✅ Think of your highlight video like a movie trailer, not a full movie. 🎬
✅ Sequence your best plays right at the beginning. Capture their attention in the first 30 seconds.

A great highlight video is about making it easy for a college coach to say, “I want to see more.”

Is your profile ready for college coaches to view? 👀

Creating a profile is step one. A complete profile is what helps college coaches find you, evaluate you, and reach out. Here's five things to make sure you include on your profile:

1️⃣ Video: Seeing is believing. Let college coaches watch you in action first 🎥
2️⃣ Transcript and GPA: Say you're a strong student? Show the proof somewhere clean and easy for coaches to access. 📄
3️⃣ Coach contact info: Make your high school or club coach's contact information easy to find so college coaches can learn more about you as a person. 🤝
4️⃣ Basic stats: Your position and high school, right there so coaches can find you in a snap. 📍
5️⃣ Sport-specific stats: Add the numbers that are specific to your sport and make you stand out as an athlete 📊

Check off all five and you make it easy for a college coach to say "I want to see more." 💙

Parents, this one's for you. 👇

MYTH: Parents should lead the coach communication.

THE TRUTH: College coaches want to get to know the athlete, not just on the field, but as a person. They're recruiting the player who'll be wearing the jersey, so that player should be the one taking initiative and driving the recruiting process.

That doesn't mean your role isn't important. Parents are the support system: giving guidance, asking the big questions, and helping your athlete stay on track. 💙

How you can help:

✅ Encourage your athlete to reach out to college coaches themselves
✅ Offer guidance and feedback along the way
✅ Support their goals, then let them lead
