In case you're wondering, grabbing some #HowlingCow does count as visiting a #NCStateCALS club for our social media contest. Thank you @ncsu_fsc for the wonderful service you provide: https://t.co/svMkpNGrMS #NCStateFair#CALSStateFair
@wes_wade We would love to take your money 😋 stop by our tent at the fair sometime this week and we will hook you up. Pro tip: come early because today we ran out of key lime pie for the day before 4pm! (It’s that good)
Congratulations to our awesome Food Science Club @ NC State for winning the “Chapter of the year” award @ the Annual Meeting of the Institute of Food Technologists (IFT). See pics of students receiving the award, the NC State Brkfst gathering, and the booth champions @ the Expo.
FBNS is everywhere! Keith Harris has nothing but enthusiasm for Food Science (ask any into student) #packpride#Wolfpack@NCStateCALS https://t.co/1fDvyLKzmS
No matter what we do, the Chapman lab makes sure to have fun. From playing pranks on one another, to celebrating birthdays, to dressing up as microbes. Thank you for following along this past week. It’s been a blast sharing our world with you
The blog is where Ben and his colleagues post about recent food safety news to educate the general population about what’s going on >> to stay informed subscribe to the blog at https://t.co/EPVZTVyHfY <<
Lindsey and Celia dedicate their time to a central component of our lab. They spend their time scouring the Internet for research news, articles, and discussions related to food safety issues that become the backbone of https://t.co/EPVZTVQi7w
You may know her as your President but around here Savana is known as the animal whisperer. She works at a vet, is surrounded by animals on her family farm, and she’s done research on zoonotic pathogens at agrotourism farms and zoos.[https://t.co/IJLhHUnvaM]
Minh has also done citizen science work where data was collected from high school students on internal temps and correct thermometer use in whole turkeys over the Thanksgiving holiday. [read the abstract @ https://t.co/sCCseA5uBm]
When Minh’s not cooking turkey burgers you’ll likely find him in one of our model kitchens where he’s observing participants prepare and cook turkey burgers while watching for food safety behaviors such as thermometer use and cross-contamination.
Minh is a member of #TeamTurkey. His research is related to turkey and thermometer use. He’s an avid turkey burger cook, even cooking them during his research. Here are some pics of him cheffing up some yummy Salmonella inoculated turkey burgers in a USDA lab
Chris is also our behind the scenes guy that captures the ideas of our food safety messaging through taking images and videos for lots of our labs’ projects
Read his abstract from his talk at last year’s @IAFPFood conference or track him down in the produce department of a grocery store to find out more {https://t.co/8b4VwlFlfr}
You might now Chris as you Food Science Club Vice President, but he is also known as the cantaloupe king. His research deals with identifying cantaloupe contact surfaces in retail environments
