@profplum99 ‘his’ arguments but I agree. People shouldn’t be so fast to dismiss Gabriel. He has done some really good work on serious issue like CSAM. I’ll be interested to see what he writes.
@peranine I land around 2pm on Thursday so could be open to a pm class (forget what time the banquet thing starts)
I guess the other option is Friday morning (for those not playing in Worlds)
@t30thirty@EbonyJHilton_MD@wsbmod Yeah no problem!
The premium is always paid to open which needs to be taken into account to understand your break-even price (can only speak for Fidelity but it notes it for you)
And for sure, the current price and time out from exp play a role in determining the current value
@t30thirty@EbonyJHilton_MD@wsbmod Yeah option 2 still relies on the market and liquidity but is probably most common and with 3 you would have already paid the premium to open the position
@EbonyJHilton_MD@wsbmod example:
contracts are usually x100
say stock x = $5 and you buy calls at $10 with 1 month exp. at $2 fee
at some point before exp, x = $15 so you could close the option with a gain of: $(15 - 10 - 2) x 100 = $300
say it only hits $8, you lose the $200 fee and they exp.
@EbonyJHilton_MD@wsbmod Essentially you pay for a contract that gives you the ability to buy/sell stock for an agreed price within an expiration date.
call: you can buy at $x
put: you can sell at $x
@techladyallison Been investing for a few years now but I haven't worked up the nerve to trade options yet! Every time I weigh the risk vs reward I find I'd rather just own the stock.
Any insight into what you look for before trading?
@codezed_@RikNieu@nntaleb@elonmusk There's always speculation but I can't help wondering if it can happen. If btc market cap breaks $1T (~$54k) , $2T may not be far off
@ajlkn@Abhishekwebin@strands_io@vercel@Netlify Thanks for the response!
Not sure how much you’re able to reveal but can you talk a little about how the sites with custom domains are deployed? I’m especially curious about pages that end up with a ton of traffic.
@Abhishekwebin@strands_io Yeah that’s an option and I’ve done it for my own personal sites but I think it maxes out at 100 domains per cert or something so I’m not entirely sure how apps at a much bigger scale handle it, for instance carrd by @ajlkn
@Abhishekwebin@strands_io Yeah it worked nice but just subdomains for that project.
I had thought a little about custom domains but I’m not entirely sure what the process is for managing all of the ssl certs for each customer. Still curious about how that would work.
