@bella_artur@simonbreak@LinkofSunshine Fair enough. I think construction is the hardest sector for me to think of specialized robots for. I mean I can still imagine a world where 100s of specialized robots can do the tasks faster than 10 humanoids like insects, but with humanoids being the middle step.
@Every1IsaGenius@scoopdiddy1@LinkofSunshine Why does it have to be humanoid? Why can't it be an amorphous robot with multiple limbs? Why does it need the ability to jump, do calculus, etc? Why does it need a head or a torso? All of these are expenses that serve zero purpose other than make it personable.
@Euthenos_@BRASILCHEVIQUE@mikitaposts Fair enough, I should've clarified that it still dwarfs the US, but I'm pretty sure it's not just Chongqing that has inflated numbers. I was trying to find the list of cities that I saw but couldn't. I recall it being shocking, but I can concede that it might've overexaggerated
@bella_artur@simonbreak@LinkofSunshine Yeah but why would they be humanoid? Why can't they be some amorphous robot with multiple limbs? Why does it need a head? Why does it need a torso?
@simonbreak@LinkofSunshine For cleaning, you only need to move the clothes to washing/dryer machine. Fold them, and move them into your closet. You absolutely don't need a humanoid robot that can do calculus and give handshakes to do this
@simonbreak@LinkofSunshine Some of these are really bad examples too. We already have assembly lines with robots, they don't need the ability to do critical thinking and gymnastics. I can make the same argument for each sector here
@frostReZv2@sharghzadeh He repeated over and over again that his priority is New York. He was never your guy. Nobody will ever be your guy. Can you please admit that you are a retard with fairy tale politics that will never, ever, ever, have any relevant power?
@frostReZv2@sharghzadeh You’re mad because he condemned antisemitism in New York lol. He literally said he believed in the right for Israel to exist (as a state with equal rights) and repeatedly condemned oct 7th on the campaign trail. What exactly makes him a fraud? What positions did he flip on?
@BRASILCHEVIQUE@mikitaposts Not really true. Most chinese “cities” with millions of people have a giant geographical area that encompasses a bunch of rural towns and farmland that aren’t even connected to the metro area
@Alexios246CE@sharghzadeh While the left has many dumber versions of Nick who are trying to sabotage dems for their political suicide agendas but they have no plan (literally every twitter leftist, Hasan etc)
@Alexios246CE@sharghzadeh I agree with you but I think it’s only because the groyper movement is very concentrated around Nick who is pretty intelligent. Without him I think there wouldn’t be a movement trying to sabotage the GOP for their political suicide agendas (mass deportations, segregation etc) 1/2
@scoopdiddy1@Every1IsaGenius@LinkofSunshine What would incentivize companies to build up factories so massive for humanoid robots when they could accomplish the same job for much much cheaper. I don't think you realize how inefficient it would be to have a humanoid robot do simple tasks. 90% of it's value would b useless
@simonbreak@LinkofSunshine But people already buy tens of different robots. If humanoid robots were invented before washing machines would the robot clean the clothes by hand? The question that people never answer is what exactly would the humanoid robot do? Can you name one sector where it would be useful
@Every1IsaGenius@LinkofSunshine What sector would employ humanoid robots? They’ll always be more expensive than any specialized robot. Having a humanoid robot do laundry instead of a laundry folding machine is the equivalent of a humanoid robot washing clothes by hand instead of a washing machine
Ok, here’s a story about the Great Asian Grindset Debate.
A couple years ago we put our kid in a piano school run by a Korean woman living in France.
There’s a recital at the end of the year where all of the kids play; half Asian, which is very unusual for France, half White.
The Asian kids were all excellent. They were all an 8 or a 9.
The White kids were all over the place. There were 1s. There were 2s. There were 3s. There were also 10s.
The Asian kids all played, sorry but it’s true, somewhat robotically (which is no shame for a kid!).
The best White kids played with that extra dimension of soul and emotion that made them touch greatness.
The Asian kids were *all* 8 or 9. The White kids were all over the place from 1 to 10.
At the end the lady who runs the school gave a little speech, which was full of nice things, but had as a big throughline chiding the parents of the White kids for not making their kids practice more. At the end, she made a joke: "Remember, make your kids work, because no matter how hard they work, there’s an Asian kid next door who’s working twice as hard." We all laughed, myself included.
Do I think that the culture that produced those 8-9 kids is healthy, or one that I would like to see dominant in my country? Hell no.
Do I also wish that the White kids who were below an 8 had worked, say, at least 10% harder? Some 50% harder? Hell yes.
