@rlmcelreath When asked what they thought of the Royal Statistical Society naming its magazine "Significance", someone said it's like naming a chemistry magazine "Phlogiston", an astronomy magazine "Astrology", or a psychiatry magazine "Lobotomy", with the latter capturing statistics best.
Thanks to @sang_woo_park and @paulbuerkner for their methodological advancements. #rstats#rstan#brms

Our estimation of the #mpox incubation period is now online available @Eurosurveillanc
Data from the first major mpox #outbreaks in May 2022 were contributed from 10 European countries (Belgium, France, Germany, Ireland, Latvia, Malta, The Netherlands, Norway, Spain, UK)

The authors wanted to
🔸provide valid & precise estimates of incubation period distribution of #Mpox
🔸by using cases associated with early outbreak settings where infection likely occurred

We had an amazing workshop in Vienna at @VetmeduniVienna on #digitalpathology and #ai this week! Thanks to all speakers and participants, and my co-organizers (@k_breininger, Frauke Wilm,Christof Bertram) for making it such a great event! See you next year, same place 😎
Happy that our paper regarding #deeplearning based diagnostic of Exercise-induced pulmonary hemorrhage was published. This paper shows that deep learning models are not about replacing pathologists, but aim to support humans in certain subtasks. https://t.co/bg1x22DvSc #pathology
Here the deep learning model can be used for computer-assisted diagnosis. The pathologist selects the cells which are counted and color grading of these cells is done by the #AI. This increases reproducibility and reduces the time needed for scoring.
I am really glad that our clinical paper (together with Christof A. Bertram) about computer-aided mitotic count was published by Veterinary Pathology. Title says it all: We found increased reproducibility and accuracy in the AI-aided setting!
