The Coinkite Ecosystem
Beyond Coldcard, Coinkite builds a range of Bitcoin tools for every layer of a self-custody setup:
Opendime: a Bitcoin bearer instrument on a USB stick for spending Bitcoin physically, like cash
Tapsigner: an NFC card that stores a private key for mobile Bitcoin signing
Satscard: an NFC bearer card with ten independent slots for physically giving and receiving Bitcoin
Seedplate: a stainless steel plate for a durable seed phrase backup
Blockclock: a Bitcoin clock that displays real-time network data
@DebbieAndrle@bradj_TX@GregAbbott_TX The PUC is supposed to oversee. They have always had too much power over rural Texas. Hard to see until now when there is high demand for the dirt in west Texas
@AgileJebrim@bradj_TX@GregAbbott_TX seems like they need clean water for the chillers that comes from a pipe. I support them generating their own electricity. I don't support water well drilling. their draw needs to be above ground through a meter.
The vulnerabilities are not new. #ColdKite knew of this firmware issue . Large corps know about their vulnerabilities and technical "debt" as well. The ability to identify and exploit at scale is rapidly expanding. The big guys know it and are making moves to adjust.
"AI found the ColdCard vulnerability" sounds good. The coding error was fairly basic to experienced developers and may have been known via blog posts by the company.
The largest bottleneck is the implementation pipeline. Maintenance always falls behind "new" features or functionality in prioritization for promotion to production. So companies are in a bind.
