Always amazed at how your senses can be fooled - also gives a glimpse into why deep learning and AI systems can be brilliant, yet be error prone in certain contexts
An interesting approach to that topic- When GDP Won’t Do: A New Method For Measuring Digital’s Value https://t.co/S1o5JTrGMd (Irving Wladawsky-Berger @erikbryn@wsj)
How can you measure the value of goods whose "contribution" to GDP is not captured (using current measurement frameworks)? We need a different lens to view and valuate digital goods and similar services in today's complex economies.
@jimsterne I see this leading to a chicken or egg type debate :-). If organizations don't drive the creation of the right service or goods for their consumers, [good] Marketers will end up selling snake oil
The Increasing Demand for Hybrid, “T-Shaped” Workers - Irving Wladawsky-Berger https://t.co/sc7lWU1bhn. Great read - definitely agree that the ability to handle fluid tasks, cultural competence, intellectual curiosity and empathy are critical to business agility & success today
Optimism does not mean being blind to the actual reality of a situation. It means maintaining a positive spirit to continue to seek a solution to any given problem. And it means recognizing that any given situation has many different aspects—positive as well as problematic.
@wimrampen Not always, I agree. Hence my recommendation that it is better to dive into this space with a framework in mind so that you are putting your efforts on the right use cases
2/2 The key to success from my experience is having a framework (use cases x benefits vs cost vs complexity) as part of your implementation roadmap along with robust data integration and democratization +having an test&learn culture and skilled team (data scientists, architect..)
Some excellent (& empirically valid) points made by Margaret Heffernan in this talk ... social connectedness is critical to a team's success.... companies don't have ideas, only people do ... https://t.co/glyRcF2eIg
@wimrampen You are right on the importance of defining the 'right' experiments. Randomly playing around with changes just because you have the technology to do it is never a sound business decision.
