@jasoncrawford Presuming we’re referring to the same autopilot, it’s much more like cruise control than self driving. The former relies on a human as integral to the system.

@jasoncrawford I do both (reasonably) well. Autopilot is easy once the plane is flying straight and level because… it is only taking into account yaw, pitch, and roll. Landing and taking off is hard in an automated way due to, among other things, human voice communication.

@QiaochuYuan This tracks. Introspection is learned behavior like logic. What’s surprising is a person experiencing the pre-state could even graduate high school. I’m struggling to imagine what abilities one has without some form of introspection, but I presume that’s an extreme bias I have.

@q_hibernator @ChKashifAli I think their graveyard of products comes from hubris — Google has the dna of “we can outsmart anyone, even at their own game” which leads to spectacular engineering feats that struggle due to lack of understanding customers and market.
