If there is precisely one thing you watch today, make it this. French Senator Claude Malhuret. A microphone. And the most magnificently savage dismantling of the Trump administration ever delivered in a language they almost certainly don’t speak.

He covers Iran. He covers corruption. He covers the kind of staggering, industrial-scale incompetence that would get you fired from managing a car park. And he does it with the calm, unhurried certainty of a man who has read every page of the indictment and found it, if anything, worse than expected.

France has never pretended to like these people. But this is contempt elevated to an art form. The kind of refined, aristocratic disdain that takes centuries of civilization to produce and approximately ninety seconds to deploy.

Malhuret sounds like he is four seconds from the button. Not out of panic. Out of sheer, exhausted disgust.
Honestly? Understandable.

I can no longer hold my tongue seeing the utter lies being spread about Britain, our history of migration, and how this country was built into what it is today. For those so deeply buried in fake news, manufactured outrage and billionaire‑funded propaganda, I’m going to lay out the truth – and exactly why you’re being fed all this poison.

Britain was never a sealed white island. From Roman times there were African soldiers stationed on Hadrian’s Wall and living in British towns, people from across the empire walking these roads nearly 2,000 years ago. Through the Middle Ages and Tudor England you still find Black people in the records – sailors, craftsmen, servants, musicians – even Black musicians at the royal court and Africans being baptised, marrying and being buried in English parishes like anyone else. This isn’t some modern experiment; it’s older than half the castles people visit on their bank‑holiday tours.

As Britain went out into the world, the world came here. Sailors and traders from India, Yemen and beyond were arriving in British ports from the 1600s. Some of those men were practising a new faith to most Britons at the time, praying quietly in boarding houses near the docks while they worked brutal shifts in the engine rooms of British ships. Over the centuries, more people from North Africa, the Middle East and South Asia passed through and settled, bringing their languages, foods and beliefs into port cities that were far more mixed than today’s nostalgia merchants like to admit.

After two world wars, the truth is simple: this country asked the Commonwealth to come and rebuild it. People from the Caribbean, Africa and South Asia didn’t sneak in; they were recruited. They came to drive buses and trains, staff the NHS, work in mills and foundries, clean offices, run corner shops, open takeaways and small businesses, and yes, build prayer spaces and community centres alongside churches and temples in the neighbourhoods everyone now pretends were always “traditional” and “unchanged”. They did the work that kept Britain going while being told to go home, refused housing, and treated as permanent outsiders.

And what have they been paid back with? Scandals where people who’ve lived, worked and paid taxes here for decades get told they don’t belong. Policies designed to make life so hostile that some give up and leave. A media that uses their names, accents, clothes or places of worship as props in endless scare stories. The message is always the same: you might toil for this country, but you will never fully be of it.

So when you hear that “Britain was white until recently” or that the country has been “overrun”, understand that you don’t arrive at that belief by accident. You get there because your history has been deliberately ripped out and replaced with a comforting myth: that “real” Britain is white, homogenous, and constantly under siege from people who look, speak or pray differently.

Now look at when this myth has been turned up to max volume. Wages frozen. Housing a sick joke. Energy and food prices out of control. Public services hacked to pieces. At the same time, the number of people hoarding unimaginable wealth at the top has exploded. Funny, isn’t it, how every front page is about boats and “swarms” and “our culture”, and almost never about the landlords, hedge funds, private equity and offshore trusts quietly buying up your city and your future.

That’s because this isn’t just prejudice; it’s a strategy. If you’re sitting on a mountain of wealth, the last thing you want is ordinary people – of every colour and background – realising they have the same problems and the same enemy. Much safer if the factory worker is furious at the new family down the road. Much safer if the person who can’t see a doctor blames the nurse with an accent instead of the minister who cut the funding. Much safer if a man who can’t afford his rent spends his rage on the woman in a headscarf at the bus stop instead of the billionaire who owns half his city.

Racist rhetoric, religious dog‑whistling, all of it, exists to break solidarity. It turns neighbours into enemies and stops people seeing that Black, brown and white working‑class communities have far more in common with each other than any of them will ever have with the people flying in on private jets. It keeps you so busy policing skin colour, passports and prayer mats that you never get round to asking why your kids can’t afford a home, why your parents can’t get a hospital bed, why you’re working harder and standing still.

The real story of Britain is this: a crossroads, not a fortress. Africans on Hadrian’s Wall. Black people in Tudor courts and city streets. Sailors, traders and workers from South Asia, the Middle East and beyond in the ports. Caribbean, African and Asian workers rebuilding the country after the war, staffing surgeries and hospitals, driving cabs, running shops, cooking food, teaching kids. Today’s multi‑ethnic, multi‑faith working class is not a glitch; it is Britain. It built this place and it keeps it running.

If you’re genuinely angry about what’s happening to this country, good. You should be. But aim it where it belongs. Britain was never pure, never untouched, never “theirs” to take back. The people ruining your standard of living are not the ones risking their lives to get here, or the ones whose names you struggle to pronounce. They’re the ones buying politicians, owning media outlets, writing the story of this country so you never learn your own – and never realise who is standing beside you.

BREAKING: RFK Jr. gets publicly HUMILIATED as over 40 current and former CDC employees spill the beans on exactly how disastrous the agency has become under his leadership.

It's so much worse than we even thought...

“I’m an E.R. doc, so I handle stress pretty well. But this was like being in a mass disaster nonstop for eight months,” Debra Houry, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s former chief medical officer, told The New York Times.

"I’ve never seen an agency that is responsible for the health of 340 million Americans be so willy-nilly," stated Daniel Jernigan, the former center director for infectious diseases.

"I don’t think it is well understood that we’re not going to see the outcomes of all of this until Trump is long gone," said Abby Tighe, a former public health adviser for overdose prevention. She's a founding member of "Fired but Fighting" an alliance of terminated CDC employees and public health advocates.

According to the Times' bombshell reporting, Kennedy's tenure as Secretary of Health and Human Services has been an unmitigated catastrophe for the CDC. Roughly 18% of the center's staff have been fired or have chosen to resign since January 2025.

In speaking to those 40 or so former or current employees, the Times discovered that "agency scientists are being sidelined, political appointees are taking charge and a vital public health institution is being remade into a vehicle for ideologues." The ideology in question is a noxious soup of conspiracy theories and anti-vax beliefs that plays well with the MAGA base while endangering the rest of us.

The Times report revealed that there are major concerns that a "century's worth of expertise is being lost" as Kennedy guts the agency.

One unnamed material HIV specialist revealed that CDC staff stopped putting their work in writing because they were worried that DOGE was spying on them and began leaving their laptops in their garages because they thought that they were being used to record them. A profound strain of paranoia has wormed its way into the organization, deeply damaging the staff's ability to perform their crucial duties.

Under RFK's leadership, the political appointee responsible for the CDC's public communications slashed away the “stringent scientific process" used to vet information for the CDC's website. The information is no longer closely checked and double-checked, raising the specter that blatant misinformation could be slipping through.

“For political appointees to take over the means of communication is devastating, and also dangerous. Now, some things are correct and some are not, which means that you can’t trust any of it," stated Susan A. Wang, a former senior medical adviser in the global immunization division.

"We would have divisionwide meetings and centerwide meetings," added Wang. "And the staff would ask a series of questions. But none of our managers or leaders could get answers. It was like being in 'The Wizard of Oz' and discovering that there is no man behind the curtain."

Of course, some Republicans still insist that Kennedy is doing his best to make the agency more efficient and reliable. They somehow still think that his "Make America Healthy Again" movement is a well-intentioned endeavor rather than an exercise in cynical branding. Kennedy revealed himself as a total fraud when he backtracked on his years-long opposition to the herbicide ingredient glyphosate after Trump signed an order to boost its production. He threw out his supposed principles in service of power, proving that doesn't truly believe in anything.

In that context, his anti-vax efforts should be seen as nothing more than an effort to pander to brainwashed Trump supporters.

"It’s not a coincidence that the high number of measles cases and the fact that we may lose our measles-elimination status coincide with the first year that a leader of the anti-vaccine movement has been overseeing the nation’s health agencies," said Fiona Havers, former medical epidemiologist in the respiratory viruses division. "They’re out there talking about the often spurious harms of vaccines while saying nothing at all about the very real dangers of the diseases that vaccines prevent."

The Supreme Court has refused to hear a man on death row's appeal for a DNA test on a murder weapon. Rodney Reed was convicted for the murder of Stacey Stites, but he says the belt that was used to strangle her was never tested for DNA and he accuses her fiance (former police officer Jimmy Fennell) of the murder.

Fennell was sentenced to 10 years in prison for the kidnapping and sexual assault of a woman in his custody while he was a cop. During his time in prison, several of his fellow inmates claimed that Fennell confessed to killing Stacey Stites.

Stites was white and Reed is Black. Inmates said Fennell was angry about an interracial affair between the 2 and bragged about the murder.

Unless he's granted clemency or a pardon, the state of Texas will execute Rodney Reed without the world ever knowing whether it was his or Fennell's DNA on the murder weapon.

This is so messed up.

Let me get this straight.

The leading Senate Republican walked into the White House Sunday with a bipartisan deal to end the TSA nightmare. Fund everything except ICE now, get TSA agents paid today, handle ICE separately.

Senate Republicans and Democrats said yes.

Trump said no.

Why? Because Trump is holding TSA workers’ paychecks hostage to try and force Congress to pass the SAVE Act, a voter suppression bill that would knock millions of eligible Americans off the voter rolls. He wants to make it harder for Americans to vote.

Like a petulant child flipping the board when he’s losing, Trump torched a bipartisan deal his own Senate leader handed him on a silver platter. His tantrum continues as he unleashes ICE agents into airports. Agents with zero screening training, zero TSA authority, and a good chance of making everything worse.

Democrats have been ready to fund TSA from day one. What we refuse to do is write a blank check for an ICE agency that gunned down two American citizens in Minneapolis and still demands the ability to kick down doors without a judge’s approval while hiding behind masks.

We will not pass the SAVE Act either. Call it what it is: the SAVE REPUBLICANS Act. Non-citizen voting is already illegal. It was illegal yesterday. It will be illegal tomorrow. This bill solves nothing except the Republican party’s losing electoral math.

Fund TSA. Reform ICE. End this today.

There is a rule in dentistry so old and so unarguable that dental students stop questioning it sometime in their second year: enamel, once gone, is gone. Your body can heal a broken bone, regrow liver tissue, and perform all manner of biological miracles, but the hard white coating on your teeth? That it cannot do. It forms once, in infancy, and what you lose to coffee and wine and years of enthusiastic chewing simply does not come back.
Researchers at the University of Nottingham have now published a paper in Nature Communications suggesting this may no longer be entirely true.

The material they have developed is a protein-based gel, and it works by doing something rather elegant. It mimics the proteins that guide enamel growth in infancy, forming a scaffold that draws calcium and phosphate ions directly from saliva and promotes the organised regrowth of new mineral in a process called epitaxial mineralization.  Under electron microscopy, the results are striking: where a damaged tooth surface once showed eroded, chaotic crystal pitting, two weeks of treatment produces something that looks, and apparently behaves, like natural enamel.

The gel is applied exactly as a dentist would apply a standard fluoride varnish, seeping into microscopic cracks and holes, then building out from there.  No drill. No filling. No small talk about whether you’ve been flossing.
There are caveats, because there are always caveats. Testing was conducted ex vivo, under controlled conditions, and the regenerated layer is only a few micrometers thick, so its long-term durability in an actual human mouth remains unknown. 

Enamel degradation contributes to dental problems affecting nearly half the global population, and current treatments do nothing more than slow the damage.  If the clinical trials deliver what the lab work promises, the drill-and-fill logic that has governed dentistry for the better part of a century starts to look rather less inevitable.

Dentistry has been promised revolutions before. They tend to arrive, if at all, about thirty years after the press release. But the science behind this one is better than most.
