The societal challenge is that investing care and attention in substantive, meaningful evaluation doesn't always have immediate (or direct) returns. But when it does happen, you see durable growth and innovation for people and organizations.
I was lucky enough to be homeschooled (first test I ever took was to prove I was qualified for college) so I've also seen first-hand how institutional criteria and laziness often create a false sense of risk for people who are answering to their own set of hackable tests.
