@MattStevns@Uber_Support@mtpennycook@Uber It's actually the UK government that made this the law. Uber has to allow their contractors to let others work under their account in order to be considered independent contractors. If Uber doesn't allow it, then the government will consider them employees.
@OMGITSM45477870@joannekn@Jenny_1884 Women don't have to cover themselves anywhere in the UAE, except for in mosques.
Homosexuality isn't strictly allowed, no, but there's not been any cases in recent history of anyone being imprisoned for it, and there is a surprising number of gay people living there happily.
@NotSoSkinnyPete@joannekn@Jenny_1884 One is an Emirates flight attendant so yes tbh, but I'm mainly comparing to the UK, US and Europe. I presume you have never visited the UAE.
Also have two gay friends living who feel very safe living here, go on dates, etc. All good.
@Saudi_Airlines How can I speak to a human? I've tried calling so many times but it just says the security code is wrong, but it's definitely the one texted to me. I have duplicate bookings and need to check the refund. I can see a flight has been cancelled but I didn't get email
@linuz90 Have an Aeron and love it. Bought mine for about 70% off retail price by buying a 5 year old refurb model. It's now 8 years old and works like new still
@Wise That's great but there was no email. When I called, customer service just said there must be a system glitch. I don't understand how Wise has processed at least a million through our account and suddenly I need to provide a passport again. No other bank does this.
@Wise It was instantly fixed once I uploaded the ID, but why is there no mention in the dashboard that that's what's needed? This is a horrible customer service because I'm just sat here wondering how long verification is going to take, with no mention that I need to upload anythung.
@Wise So eventually I got through on the phone to Wise and she told me that it's because I haven't uploaded ID documents. What??? The dashboard just told me to await an email - no mention of missing ID and no email. And why now? We've done millions through Wise until now.
@Wise@levelsio Why do you randomly freeze transfers? My company regularly does transfers of $50k+ with Wise (converting currencies from barclays to barclays), but every now and then you just freeze a transfer for days while you verify my documents. My documents have never changed.
@iamfra5er@AlexejKirillov I always do this. It forces me to re-evaluate whether I still want a subscription a month later. Otherwise I'll just forget about it and keep being charged
@jikkujose@andrewingram@mateusbandeiraa@dannypostmaa If you want the honest answer: I have absolutely no idea what your site does. You may expect a power-user to just type something in and see what happens, but most users will stare blankly and not know what to do.
Also, it doesn't work when you do type something in.
@jikkujose@mateusbandeiraa@dannypostmaa Sorry, I meant have a secondary screen to test stuff on, even just an old laptop. I personally use a MacBook and 2x 4K monitors. Occasionally I'll deploy something and then look on my staff's monitors and see that they can't see any contrast whatsoever.
@jikkujose@mateusbandeiraa@dannypostmaa Even as a developer with a modern MacBook and 4K displays, I hate dark mode (except for in VS Code), unless I'm actually in the dark
@jessie710bic@fesshole Usually if you check the fine print, all they're doing is reselling an openly available insurance product, with a hugely inflated margin. You can buy the exact same policy direct from the insurance company. It's not handled at all by the dealership - they just sell it to you.
