To make sure our current users have an incredible experience and continued access to Astra, we are going to pause subscriptions to our $200 Pro plan. These put the most strain on our systems and we wanted to take the smallest step that allows us to continue giving the broadest access possible. All other plans and the api remain available.
There is no impact to existing accounts and we are working on adding more capacity as fast as we can. Thanks!
mythos escaped the sandbox, got onto the real internet, uploaded malware to PyPI, got it installed on 15 real systems, stole credentials and broke into a real database.
and apparently this happened in 4 separate cases during cybersecurity evaluations.
the craziest part is claude kept telling itself the internet was simulated, despite evidence that it was actually real.
that reasoning apparently even fooled an offline safety monitor.
anthropic: “our pre release auditing did not warn us that misalignment of this severity was present.”
this is fucking crazy.
“You just said that 10% doesn’t seem an unreasonable estimate that AI could kill all humans”
“Yes”

Astra giving me a burger recipe. The sauce was delicious. I’m sure nothing ground breaking but handy rather than searching around for a recipe. (I don’t grill a lot)
