This evening we were tasked by @MCA_media to a person in the water. We responded with @MPSonthewater and @LondonPortAuth, Casualty located by police and recovered by lifeboat. Casualty stated he used @RNLI #FloatToLive advice! Amazing work by all #LiveSaved 👍✅ #SaferThames

Called 05:57 to a man in the river at #Woolwich. @MPSonthewater & @LondonPortAuth arrived on scene first but couldn't rescue the casualty due to them being under a pier

On our arrival the person went under the surface & we commited a crew member to swim & rescue them. #lifesaved

Defibrillators are safe and simple to use.

We don't want people to be afraid to use one when required. A defib cannot make a situation worse - they can only be used on people in cardiac arrest, people who are clinically dead.

Use of a defibrillator gives a chance of life.
