This region was well prepared ahead of the storm and stayed informed throughout the storm, thanks to our local meteorologists at @MyArkLaMiss, @KNOE8 and @NWSJacksonMS. Those folks were the true lifesavers today. #lawx
Back-to-back tornado warnings issued this afternoon simultaneously affected the majority of our service area. While property damage was widespread, we were fortunate no one was transported by EMS with storm-related injuries.
**Troop F Traffic Advisory (Monroe area)
Troopers and other first responders are currently on the scene of a crash involving multiple overturned vehicles. This crash is located on Interstate 20 westbound between Start and Rayville. Traffic is moving slow in the area.
GOHSEP has activated its Crisis Action Team to coordinate any potential support for our local partners during this latest severe weather threat. Stay weather aware! Conditions could turn dangerous with little notice. @LouisianaGov@FEMARegion6

1. Know which county you're in and familiarize yourself with the surrounding city names
2. Have multiple ways to receive warnings 📲
3. Know where you're going to take shelter, if needed
Severe weather remains likely Tuesday. This could be a significant severe weather event. All modes of severe weather (tornadoes, damaging winds, & large hail) are likely. Strong tornadoes are possible, especially in the "Moderate Risk" (4 of 5) area.
As many are quick to point out, the vast majority of Covid cases — of all variants — are mild. The real problem is the fraction of cases that aren't mild and lead to lengthy hospitalizations and deaths. For those who suffer from a severe case, percentages provide little comfort.
