Today's game between the Red Sox and Orioles will be the second time in MLB history in which two teams on win streaks of 7+ games meet & the combined win streak is 20+ games.
The other was on September 13, 1884, between the St. Louis Maroons (12) and Washington Nationals (11).
>"Why does [rule] exist? Its pointless and only stops cool stuff!"

You think you like cool shit until people die
one of the things I don’t think most normal people understand is how much you pay for seemingly small amounts of increased reliability (more 9’s).
like the advice not to tell vendors you’re hosting a “wedding” but just a party? weddings cost twice as much because the vendor knows you are expecting a once in a lifetime experience and everything needs to be perfectly on spec and on time. perfect costs like, 2-10x as much as “best-effort that probably turns out fine”.
same with childcare. a nanny who shows up every day on time costs like twice as much as a best-effort/90% of the time nanny.
your life circumstances might dictate that either is best for you: cheaper or perfect!
but the mistake people make is that they think taking a nanny from 90% showing up to 100% showing up should be ~10% more expensive while anyone who has worked in computer reliability probably understands why it’s like 2-10x more 😂
Mitch McConnell has FINALLY released that proof of life video and demonstration of his fitness to continue serving as a United States senator. Thanks Mitch, we appreciate you. Much love.
With 5.6 Sol, a lot of people are still prompting the model exactly as they did 5.5
It's important to note that 5.6 Sol is a lot more tenacious and thorough than previously models.
Check out the guide I wrote here to get better outcomes

@SteveSkojec The Soviets tested this quite a bit with animals back in the 1970s. There's quite a bit of literature on it. Freaky stuff. https://t.co/IAntvRCg2D
Reasons why 4th of July is the best holiday:
1. Low pressure, high payoff: no obligation to travel or fret about a sit-down meal. Grilling is easy and outdoors, so the cook can socialize. No one has to toil in the kitchen
2. Best dress code of any holiday. Red, white, and blue is a great palette, and the 4th has the widest range of formality of any holiday. Whether you show up in a seersucker suit, bolo tie, tricorne hat, daisy dukes, Old Navy dog t shirt, cowboy boots, or tie dye- you're on theme.
4. Fireworks
5. It perfectly bookmarks the year
6. Unpatriotic haters stay home so when you go out you find yourself in a self-selected group of cheerful people who love to celebrate
I used Fable 5 to port Command & Conquer: Generals Zero Hour to the iPhone and iPad!
This is the actual 2003 engine compiled for ARM64 natively, no emulator.
Campaign, skirmish, Generals Challenge all work with touch controls built for an RTS.

One of the great chapters in America's history is how we converted our economy to wartime production in the 1940s and used our industrial power to win WWII.
I'd learned in high school that we converted car factories into tank factories. But I never knew the full story until last month, when I read Freedom's Forge, the definitive book on this.
It turns out the true story is even crazier and more impressive. In honor of July 4th, here's the story of how America won WWII, one factory at a time.
I fucking love America because it's a place that encourages you to fail. Blow up your life. Fall without a safety net. Start 7 businesses and go bankrupt. Join a cult. Get divorced 6 times. Make a ton of money in a ridiculous scheme and then blow it all on bad investments. Build a hydroponic shrimp tank business in your basement. Enroll your kids in a school where they practice telepathy. Have a secret family. Shoot your foot off with a gun. Buy drugs that make you go insane. Drive your RV off a cliff. Crash your own private plane off the coast during a storm. In America, you can fail so fast, and so hard, and so beautifully—every one of us has the opportunity to blow our wings off flying toward a crazy dream.
