We Lost Him 💔😭

My heart is shattered beyond words

Our little brother, 13-year-old David Raymond, has gone home to be with the Lord after fighting for his life for 18 painful days

David was not a soldier
He was not a criminal
He was only a child whose only "offense" was being born into a Christian family in Plateau State

On that dark night in Kawel village, Bokkos LGA, terrorists stormed his home while the family slept

His father, Raymond Maichibi, stood between death and his son, hoping to save him with his own body, but he was shot and killed

His mother, Nanlop Raymond, hid inside the bedroom, praying for mercy, but the bullets found her too

David tried to escape, but an AK-47 bullet ripped through his back and stomach, leaving his intestines exposed

As doctors struggled day and night to save this innocent child, his parents were already lying in a mass grave alongside 20 other Christians murdered simply because of their faith

The family could not bring themselves to tell David that he was now an orphan

They hoped he would recover first

But today, that painful secret no longer matters

David has gone to join his father and mother in eternity

Before he died, his trembling voice still echoed from his hospital bed

"They came in the night... My father tried to protect me and they shot him... My mother was hiding when they shot her too... I ran and they shot me in the back..."

How many more children must die before the world listens

How many more Christian families must be erased before our tears are seen

The silence of the world has become another weapon against us

I was at the park heading to Warri because I missed my train yesterday.

While waiting for the bus to fill up, my eyes caught the attention of an almost 65-year-old woman sitting under the harsh early morning sun.
What was she selling?

Gruwel (also called kunu, a local drink loved by Nigerians). I noticed she has leg pains and she finds it difficult to walk...where are her children I asked myself quietly.

While i sat between 7 AM and 8:30, she sat hopeful yet ,no customer came...

I got moved, this could be somebody's mother💔...i asked her how much she sells one for, and she told me 300 naira each.

I wasn't intending to drink because I no wan piss while on a long transit.. I asked her how many the whole bottles were, she told me 22… Wait, whaaaat wtf, ordinary 6,600👀?

Well, I asked her to give one each to any passerby interested (Asherkine vibes🤭.......at first she was sceptical, yet from the way I looked, she knew..This lady isn't capping.

While I sat and watched, she gave out one by one and emptied her cooler.
I called the POS lady at the nearby view to pass her the little I had 20k....and let her rest through tomorrow.

The prayer this maama prayed for me, if God would answer her, I would be richer than Elon Musk overnight 🤭.

Hopefully, on my return from my business trip, I will check up on her to know how she is faring and possibly do more. Show kindness if you can to mothers like this
