A few days ago, Manikumar (36) from Rajamahendravaram, Andhra Pradesh, got trapped in the narrow rock passage known as Moksha Margam (Moksha road) on the southern path of Arunachala Giri in Tiruvannamalai. He suffered severe breathing problems and later died.

Now, just days after that tragedy, another incident has happened at the exact same spot. A woman from Andhra Pradesh got stuck in the same narrow alley, struggled to breathe, and was pulled out just in time by nearby devotees. This video shows how close it came to becoming another fatal accident.

Many people believe that crawling through this extremely tight rock gap gives them moksha — liberation from the cycle of birth and death. That is why it is called Moksha Margam.

This is only a local myth. There is no real connection between forcing your body through a narrow rock hole and attaining moksha. Moksha is a spiritual concept that comes from self-realization and inner transformation, not from a physical act of squeezing through a cave.
These repeated accidents prove how dangerous this belief has become.

Once you've reached to a respectable salary in your career, don't put a lot of efforts for promotions in corporate jobs

For 10% increase in your salary on paper you've to manage 50% extra responsibilities, give extra time on work, compromise on health and family time, increases the chance of layoffs and in the end you'll get only around 6.5% of that increased salary.

Try to migrate if you are paying such taxes. This country doesn't deserve direct income tax. 42L tax. More than 33% tax despite have 6 slabs under 30%, highest rate is 30% but the effective tax is 33%. Seems babus were in hurry to impose 30% asap.

Stupid argument.

1. While businesses pay tax only on the profit ( of course numerous loop holes) , the salaried class pays tax on the entire income ?

2. If earning above 50 lakhs is rich, why is he / she still struggling with EMIs ?

3. If 50 lakhs is rich and is only a miniscule %of tax payers, who are those roaming around in luxury cars and SUVs , living in bunglows, enjoying a family holiday abroad and eating out at luxury hotels ?

4. While others evade income tax and pay only indirect taxes, why is the salaried class with its post income tax income made to pay GST, VAT, Excise, toll, Imp-Exp duty , LTCG, STCG , STT etc., Why double taxation?

5. Why is agriculture income above 12 lakhs exempt from income tax ?

6. What do income tax payers get back from the govt ?

7. If my income tax is used to build infra, then why should I pay toll to use the highway built using my tax money ?

A person I know earned ₹48 lakh last financial year and paid close to ₹9.4 lakh in income tax.

He lost his job in December and now has to pay taxes at one of the most vulnerable times of his life.

India has almost no social security. No matter how much tax you pay, the moment you lose your job, the government won't support you.

Instead, the same tax money is redirected into freebie schemes where the priority is distributing ₹2,000 or ₹4,000 to different voter groups.

No wonder brain drain is at its highest.

It's taken me roughly 55 days of back and forth to get a sanction letter from a bank we already have a current account with for an unsecured ₹2 Lakh credit card in the company's name.

Now the bank requires all my signed stack of documents again because of the time elapsed in them processing the sanction. Entire set of documents now have to be in today's date. Apparently it will take 14-21 days after receiving the documents to get the card issued.

This is a private bank - mind you. 🤷

An MLA in my district has set a target for each Mandal Revenue Officer: Rs 30 lakh per month. There are 5 MROs. That is Rs 1.5 crore a month from MROs alone. Rs 18 crore a year. Rs 90 crore over a five-year term. Just from one department.

Now add the Sub-Registrar offices. The PWD contracts. The Health department. Irrigation. Police postings and transfers. Each one has its own monthly target flowing upward. Do the math and you are staring at an MLA generating at least Rs 1,000 crore over a five-year term. A thousand crore. From a single constituency. There are constituencies where it would be a multiple of this.

This is not a public servant. This is a business enterprise.

The economics are straightforward. To win an assembly election in Andhra today, a candidate spends roughly Rs 50 crore. That is the investment. The Rs 1,000 crore over five years is the return. Some of it flows up the chain to party bosses. Some is distributed to supporters. A significant portion is set aside for the next election. And what remains is profit.

The business has its own marketing department. Travel through any constituency in Andhra and the biggest advertisements you see are not for soap or smartphones. They are for the MLA. Massive hoardings wishing him on his birthday. His son's birthday plastered across the town with firecrackers to mark the occasion. His daughter's wedding celebrated like a state event. Every other car has a sticker that says "MLA." His face is on more surfaces than any consumer brand. This is not politics. This is brand building for a franchise.

And here is the part that makes the whole system self-sustaining: vote buying.

During elections, most voters in these constituencies sell their vote for a few thousand rupees. Rs 2,000. Rs 5,000. Sometimes Rs 10,000. It is openly done. Everyone knows. Once you accept that money, something fundamental shifts. You lose any moral or ethical standing to question the MLA on his corruption. You were part of the transaction. You took the upfront payment. He is now collecting the returns on his investment. You cannot complain about the toll when you sold him the road.

This is the behavioral trap that locks the system in place. The voter knows the MLA is corrupt. The MLA knows the voter knows. But the transaction at the time of the election creates a mutual complicity that silences accountability for five years. It is not fear. It is not ignorance. It is moral disarmament through participation. You cannot be the victim of a system you voluntarily entered.

The scale of this is difficult to comprehend. We are not talking about petty corruption. We are not talking about a bureaucrat taking a few thousand rupees to process a file. We are talking about a systematic, industrialized extraction machine that generates thousands of crores per constituency per term. Multiply that across 175 assembly constituencies in Andhra Pradesh alone and you begin to see the magnitude.

And yet no one makes a noise about it.

Not the opposition, because they run the same enterprise when they are in power. Not the media, because the MLA is often the biggest advertiser in the local market. Not the bureaucracy, because the MRO is in on it. Not civil society, because the NGOs need the MLA's goodwill to operate. And not the voters, because they took the money.

The entire ecosystem has reached an equilibrium where corruption is not a deviation from the system. It is the system. The MLA is not a corrupt politician. He is a businessman who invested Rs 50 crore and expects a return. The MRO is not a corrupt officer. He is a franchise operator who pays a monthly fee to keep his posting. The voter is not a victim of corruption. He is a participant who sold his leverage for Rs 5,000.

Today, an MLA generating a thousand crore in a single term barely registers as news. It is not hidden. It is not denied. It is simply accepted, the way you accept that water flows downhill. It is the operating system.

And that acceptance is the most dangerous part. Not the corruption itself, but the complete normalization of it. When a society stops being outraged by extraction on this scale, when it treats a thousand crore in systematic theft as just how things work, it has not just tolerated corruption. It has internalized it. It has made peace with it. And that peace is the hardest thing to undo.
