One thing I’ve noticed among certain RWers STEM-educated:MBBS/IITs people online is this almost pathological reductionism: everything has to travel directly from A to B. If the connection isnt immediate, they simply refuse to acknowledge it.

If you ever get a chance to move abroad, do it. Don't think twice.

This is especially true if you are a General Category student, who competes on merit.

See reservation & all is not going away, irrespective of which political party comes to power.

As resources shrink, freebies will expand.
So don't pin your hopes on politics.

Your only legit defense is your hard-work & money that you make. You gotta create opportunities for yourself. The state will not do it for you.

First, become financially strong. Living abroad, allows you to attain financial freedom much faster.

Once that is done, you can always move back to India, if/when you like.

Without getting into whether STEM or Humanities is "difficult", please know that every IIT student is required to complete a beginner Economics course in the first semester. We also have multiple Humanities courses every year. It's not a one-dimensional degree.

You people think portraying Indians through dark-skinned actors is somehow an insult to our country. But that reaction itself reveals something deeper: the idea that darker skin is inherently ugly/embarrassing. Nothing intenralised colorism.

Whenever Netflix wants to portray an Indian character, they always seem to go for Tamil characters & often the most stereotypical looking ones. Even Tamil cinema wouldn’t cast them. It feels like Netflix is deliberately pushing a certain stereotype of what Indians look like.
