Built a custom style to generate 48x48 achievement/unlock icons for the game I'm working on!
I know I keep harping on it but the 'my styles' system really is insanely powerful for game dev.
Guide on how I made the style below :)
I've been playing with music models the last couple weeks and so far there's nothing close to Suno custom models. But their copyright detection is soooo anoying
Meet Stable Audio 3.0, the open-weight model family built for artistic experimentation.
This is our open invitation to experiment with generative audio. We believe the best innovations are still waiting to be built.
The 4-1-1 on 3.0:
📣 You own your outputs, and can distribute and commercialize them under the Stability AI Community License (up to $1 million in revenue).
🎵 New and improved capabilities include variable-length generation up to six minutes, and full song composition on portable devices, no GPU required.
✅ Trained on a fully licensed dataset.
🎨 You can customize the models on your own library with support for LoRa training, which we’ve documented for the first time.

I want to highlight some of the really cool custom styles made with Retro Diffusion.
It's still in my opinion the strongest feature on the site. It takes a little to get right, but once you have a style nailed down, you can just go into mass production mode so easily!
Getting in-canvas editing ready to go this weekend :)
Now Retro Diffusion will have a quick way to edit, inpaint, and expand images, along with extremely powerful color controls, background removal, and more.
This is all part of a new "Tools" category :)
If you're not using Retro Diffusion you're missing out on the highest quality pixel art generation out there.
It's the only tool actually made by people who know what they are doing, have professional experience in art, game dev, and AI.
It's so powerful.
We added some nice QoL to the site, just a simple way to pin previous generations so you don't need to scroll forever in the sidebar to find them.
Great for working on projects where you have a lot of reference assets :)
One of the best things about Retro Diffusion these days is the ability to make custom styles.
Its overlooked by a lot of users, but once you get a style built its so impactful.
I've generated easily over 1000 consistent portraits at this point for different things. ~$0.01 each!
So I made a custom style based on some of my old artwork- now you can generate an infinite amount of unique characters with this dark background portrait style.
I LOVE how this came out, it's my favorite style yet.
All just built with the "my styles" feature, no training!
I was using the 20 USD Codex plan, they nerfed it to oblivion.
None of the alt providers are worth IMHO. Ollama Cloud is too unreliable, but the usage is good
https://t.co/ByVZfp9hNf super slow at times, probably on peak hours, but for some reason are always my working hours
My main problem with all these providers is reliability. Sometimes are super slow or you hit an extremely quantized endpoint on high traffic hours and the agents doesn't get the right tool calls. So annoying
OpenCode Go is really good, but I need more than the provided usage and Zen get super expensive really quickly, even with GLM 5.1
I'm back to Codex, but feels wrong to pay 100/200 USD/month for a freaking subscription XD
