Today, Minister of State for Education @ClaudetteIrere joined the Entrepreneurship Education Strategic Partners Roundtable, a platform bringing together key stakeholders to reflect on findings from the Entrepreneurship Education Landscape Review: Kenya and Rwanda and explore ways to strengthen entrepreneurship learning for young people.

This afternoon, Minister of State for Education @ClaudetteIrere joined Day Two of the TVET Sub-Sector Working Group Retreat, where discussions focused on strengthening Rwanda’s skills development agenda and accelerating progress toward the national target of creating 1.25 million productive and decent jobs by 2029.
In her remarks, the Minister of State emphasized the need for a resilient and future-ready TVET system that can withstand global disruptions while continuing to deliver quality training. She called for stronger industry partnerships, greater focus on entrepreneurship and self-reliance, and a renewed commitment to aligning training programmes with labour market needs.

“Even in the face of global challenges, our ambition remains unchanged. We must continue equipping learners with the skills, innovation, and adaptability needed to thrive, create jobs, and contribute meaningfully to Rwanda’s economic transformation.”

This morning, Permanent Secretary @Karakye_Charles is convening District Vice Mayors in charge of Social Affairs, Sector Education Inspectors (SEIs), Provincial Education Coordinators, and partners @poverty_action and @gui2de_GU to review progress on the SEIs Imihigo Framework and ongoing evaluations of school Imihigo.

Discussions are focussing on strengthening accountability across the education sector, reviewing progress in the implementation of school and SEI Imihigo, and exploring ways to enhance performance management, support effective teaching, and improve learning outcomes for learners across Rwanda.
