We invite you to join us online tomorrow for our Community Commemoration of Remembrance 2020. This will involve the sounding of the Last Post, the recital of a war poem, the two-minute silence before finishing with the Reveille. A link will be posted tomorrow. @AnglianLearning
Summer is here! ☀️ This half term, we shared some of our favourite texts by BIPOC writers. If you’re looking for some holiday reading inspiration, here are some books and writers that we love! 📚
Our arts festival is now live! Thank you to the Oakes and @netherhall staff & students who helped make this amazing event happen. https://t.co/5xf2yQ9BFc
Although we miss being able to gather in person, we’re encouraging our staff and students to find creative ways to celebrate #Pride2020. This was sent in by one of our students yesterday. Happy Pride! 🏳️🌈
@YasminwithanE's 'All The Things We Never Said'
@sufiyaahmed's 'Secrets of the Henna Girl'
@EmmaSmithBarton's 'The Million Pieces of Neena Gill'
@ManjeetMann's 'Run, Rebel'
@aishacs's 'Amal Unbound'
There's PLENTY more, but these are the ones my lot have loved.
@Netherhall_Eng Would it be okay to have a copy of this list once you have finished it?
One of my favourite books is 'Roll of Thunder, Hear My Cry' by Mildred D. Taylor- I'm sure you have thought of it already.
