Movies got scarier, and more brutal over the last couple decades: https://t.co/ChOiYhpO6J This trend can't last forever, so I wonder when will it reverse. I wouldn't mind if it happened rather sooner than later.
Reviews of upcoming Hollywood movies or coverage from a war zone?

AI like ChatGPT will eradicate bullshit communication practices. Communication is a type of connection with another human being. It can feel good. Not so much with an artificial middleman in between. Perfecting a message (an email, slides, ...) made sense, but now? Honesty FTW!
@basecamp I love the app, but one feature I'm missing is the possibility to reply to a message (e.g. in Campfire). Is it something you guys consider or is there a reason not to have that? It helps a lot when discussing more complex topics (as opposed to writing: "re: subtopic X")
https://t.co/2DF0Yw5mUM Absolutely amazing short movie by Syama Pedersen. I'd definitely watch a full-length movie based on i if Syama would be part of the team.
For me, this is the most surprising text generated by GPT-3. The first question is by a human. The rest by artificial intelligence (https://t.co/2240vN6Xlw). It's not only consistent but also, in a way, beautiful. Is it because the structure of this text is a pattern in books?
What’s up? A confused voice came from inside. When I opened the door, the person that looked back at me was Hayama Hayato. Why was Hayama, who I only shared memories of me playing soccer with, in my room at this hour of the night? That question immediately flew out from my mouth
If I will want to verify if I'm talking with a human or a bot in a couple of years, I'll try by asking "How many rainbows does it take to jump from Hawaii to seventeen?" https://t.co/NWcGPwgNHu #GPT3
This moment when you go to an article on the Hacker News front page, then see About the author section, and you're like: I know this man :-) Awesome article @fidrelity https://t.co/NAHmoQrPXN
@zaiste It has to be possible to pass functions as arguments. Also, if it's not easy to create a module with functions that can be called directly and if the language doesn't have immutable data types, then most of the benefits of a functional language are gone. Static typing is a plus.
@WFP In the last newsletter you write: "As a result of COVID-19, (...) 300,000 people may die from hunger each day over the next three months." Could you point to some source? I think that's important considering that currently 170,000 people die per day for any reason.
Awesome board game made by a friend: https://t.co/uIOQJq016v They started last week and are already 86% founded. My favorite part is that the core of it is based on go. I hope they will reach at least the penultimate stretch goal for no-randomness play variant.
