Today we set off to the field to work in 10 hard-to-reach communities in Wenchi Municipality in the Bono Region and the Atebubu Municipality in Bono East Region of Ghana.

Interestingly, this is the most exacting fieldwork the team has ever undertaken. This particular fieldwork on schistosomiasis took us to riverine communities, where transportation is primarily by canoe.
THE YEAR IN REVIEW
The NetrodisOH research team began the year with fieldwork in March on schistosomiasis in very hard-to-reach communities in the Sene West District within the Bono region of Ghana.
The team worked closely with community leaders and members, involving them in almost every component of the study. Community entry and engagement are central approaches in all our studies as a research team. Community participation is essential for accurate disease surveillance
