People were misled by the airspeed indicators which became too optimistic as the aircraft approached Mach 0.9 due to compressibility effects on the sensors.

@Rainmaker1973 They were not suicidal, just unlucky. Their design was to ballast the balloon with a heavy rope that would drag across the ice and act as variable ballast.
The rope broke off however, the balloon soared way up and far from their launch point, so they had to press on.

Seems far fetched.
AFAIK, a single missile was launched, which did not hit Israel.
So the initial presenter’s image is quite misleading.
Reality is that Israel has the power, the various Arab states do not. Israel however should keep its focus on Pakistan, a Muslim nation with nuclear weapons delivery capability and lots of domestic problems. They are more dangerous than Iran for Israel.
