the avg person probably doesn’t care about ads in chatgpt

but what is gonna make these ads resonate is how they’ve captured the chipper, clipped, empty-eyed cadence of the gpt 5 models

@wmata Thanks BM have a good one.

[Connor Burke @networking]

@wmata Yes everybody boarded. Unfortunately, I was increasingly late to a reservation so my uber arrived as people were boarding. Thank you for following up though!

[Connor Burke @networking]

@kriptokot_ @kippbodnar @thesamparr That’s fair, it would most likely be longer during rush hour depending on the day. I’ve done 40 minutes from Salem NH to Cambridge MA. Cambridge has also been a 40 minute drive from Wellesley MA to Cambridge for me before. 🤷‍♂️

[Connor Burke @networking]

@archaelius @jin_enjoji_luvr @_EricHu I laughed at this wow

[Connor Burke @networking]

@TeamYouTube @ericparker Need to give YT credit here for walking this back. They followed up + 2nd review upheld the removal. It was they escalated for a 3rd review with the correct resolution. Unfortunately, without social media reach or policy changes others will face the same problem in the future…

[Connor Burke @networking]

@kippbodnar @thesamparr Agreed. Long term I believe most Maine real estate like Portland will explode in value.

Alternatively - I’ve witnessed state line towns in NH blow up since the 40 minute commute time into Boston/Cambridge is comparable to Mass suburbs with the added NH no income tax benefit.

[Connor Burke @networking]

@kippbodnar @thesamparr What would you characterize this for those that live permanently in the Cape or Martha’s Vineyard versus living in Newtown/Needham/Wellesley?

[Connor Burke @networking]

@lucawashenko Wow! I bet that mistake won’t happen again

I’m curious on cases like this - the IP stresser tested @dodopayments infra and let @ayushagarwal know where to fix the security gaps.

Would you want someone to test your system like that? Do we consider the Russian IP stresser a white hat or black hat? Legally - black hat…

[Ayush Agarwal @ayushagarwal]

Here’s the full story.

When the attacker reached out, I expected chaos. Instead, I met someone absurdly skilled, weirdly honest, and surprisingly open about why he did it.

He’s from Russia.
And his “job” is running a full stresser service - hundreds of servers across data centers, custom built browsers with Rust, distributed load generators, all built and managed by him.
At one point he even had 479 attacks running in parallel for different customers.

He walked me through how he bypassed multiple layers of protection at @dodopayments.
He showed me the tooling he built.
He explained how he tests hundreds of sites at once.

No ransom. No extortion.
Just….. “I don’t like weak security and I wanted to push you.”

And honestly, he did push us. Hard.
We spent 48 hours fixing gaps we didn’t know existed.
He pointed out where we were strong and where we weren’t.
He even shared suggestions on how to harden the stack further.

The wildest part?
What started as an attack turned into a conversation about infra, security, and resilience.

Internet is a strange place.
But sometimes the people trying to break you end up making you stronger.

@nizzyabi You are highlighting someone saying Marc encouraged the feature. However it’s speculation. Danny doesn’t work for stripe so that’s not confirmation that Stripe created this based on Marc’s feature.

[Connor Burke @networking]

@honeydice_ @Sal3mC Have you tried Replit? Considering bade44, replit, and Gemini but I don’t think Gemini is there yet to be very no code friendly vibe coding

[Connor Burke @networking]

@wongmjane For predication markets - you are able to find prerelease info. For example there was a market if OpenAI releases a browser. Would you ever use your skills to find something like this out such as Coinbase releasing “Genie” AI agent soon and bet on prediction markets?

[Connor Burke @networking]

@JasperZiggle What did you say in the requests?

[Connor Burke @networking]

@samhenrigold Very cool. How long did it take to reverse engineer? Impressive

[Connor Burke @networking]

I’m convinced that the original people who immediately used ChatGPT in the first few months when it came out in November 2022 still call it “ChatGPT”. Most Gen Z call people I know call it just “Chat” and it always throws me off

@lejeunesimon @Replit Any tips when creating it and promoting? What was the majority of your 27 minutes doing?
