GRID Magazine Edition 001 is live!!πͺ¨βοΈ
Access is available in comments.
First edition is devoted entirely to the $ORE community and the grid miners in @ORE
closing out the weekend convinced the @ORE community is built to last
with people like this, the future of the miners is in good hands
logging off, the mine keeps running
@mattytay@CryptoRibdo@tulipking If the Overton Window expands beyond a single non sovereign SoV, it probably expands beyond a single mechanism for producing one too. Grid mining feels like one of the experiments worth watching.
For what it is worth, I don't see grid mining as a rejection of proof of work. I see it as part of the same intellectual lineage.
Satoshi pulled from the primitive of Adam Back's Hashcash in building Bitcoin's similar POW mechanism.
Now solana:oreoU2P8bN6jkk3jbaiVxYnG1dCXcYxwhwyK9jSybcp takes another step forward, asking whether the scarce resource committed to mining must be computation or whether capital itself can become the work.
The machine does not disappear from history. Rather the primitive, itself, simply evolves.
Thank you @EnjoyORE .

HHCβs intuitive design of grid mining truly alters so much.
With Bitcoin, the asset(in theory) is decentralized however the architecture has morphed over the years to a more centralized model.
Ore currently offers a more fair and decentralized version of both β the acquireble asset AND the architecture that brings it forth.
Bitcoin itself is extraordinarily portable. This is one of its strengths compared to physical assets like gold.
A private key can cross a border as information. A node can be restarted elsewhere. The software can be copied almost without cost.
But a mining facility? That is different. A mining facility cannot be teleported.
And therein lies the dilemma of machine mining. The mechanism of Bitcoin is not portable.
With the introduction of grid mining, $ORE solves the problem that Bitcoin and other POWs have no answer to.
For the first time the mechanism and infrastructure itself is now as portable as the asset.
This will matter heavily in the future.
I truly think the most compelling thing about grid mining is what it removes.
The ASIC. The warehouse. The electrical infrastructure. The logistics. The depreciation cycles.
What remains is remarkably what is pure.
The capital, the probability, the competition and the issuance.
Grid mining is not the rejection of traditional POW. It is the evolution of its mechanism.
Tip of the hard hat to @HardhatChad and his vision of $ORE. I truly donβt think the majority of people grasp the economic rails that have been laid by what is being built.
