@PresidentEvilX@AlgirdasLeo I will happily shill for resident evil all day, i love this series to death i just demand better.
Resident Evil used to set standards and wasn't only a good game that gets almost drowned by the end of the year by better games
RE Engine era of resident evil has been very mixed imo. While the production value is at an all time high the series lost the style or the "sauce / Soul" .
Gameplay is solid but it's becoming increasingly dull especially with how much they homogenized the latest entries.
@KawiNinjaZX Actually it was leon's game originally according to the director. He changed cause he did not want leon stuttering and gasping every 2 seconds
@BakenBrando@MrMexican95 For RE4 especially i felt it was an extra unnecessary way to gain more ammo in a game that is already have multiple sources of ammo like enemy drops and pick ups
@geimen_god The thing i really really love resident evil and likely never ever hate it. I just want more effort especially when we used to have it so good
@asillygayboy High fidelity graphics were never a problem. I put these terms in between quotation marks to poke fun at them as well as for people to understand what i mean.
@DionFBC@nslskp___y64 That's all true but there is missing some context
The RE1R was always how mikami wanted the game to be like but there were technical limitations and also other obligation (such as the game being a remake of sweet) that made it the way the og was
@DionFBC@nslskp___y64 I don't think adding more content is necessarily good. Quality would have to be a big factor here
I believe RE4R is great i love it so much but my only problem with it is they didn't preserve the art style
@TheMoronicDrake They had an interesting story angle they have been cooking for 2 games (the corruption of the bsaa) but they chose do retcon the entire umbrella timeline instead
@MrMexican95 What do you mean how did they do away with them? Do you think the purged an entire second half of a game but not content (including puzzles) were lost ?
Also even of 2R had good puzzles that's like 1 game out of like 6 games (5 if we exclude 4 for not being the same as the og)
@BakenBrando@MrMexican95 Oh i don't disagree , it's definitely there but like you said it was noticeably lessened which i don't think was great
Also i mentioned homogenized gameplay mechanics which lessens it even more, like seriously did RE4 or RE9 needed crafting for example?
