@Mimicar234 Ohhhh alright, I haven't started my psp playthrough of EP yet so I thought it would give the option right off the bat on the main menu like for IS
@GGloobhead@TalI_guy PS1 version if you want a challenge, Innocent Sin already wasn't a hard game but the PSP version made it even easier. As for Eternal Punishment it's a tie because afaik the difficulty wasn't changed, but the PSP version doesn't allow you to switch to the ps1 soundtrack unlike IS
@ClarkeIssa51756@Joshuamaddocks1@neverfadeaway_1 Creators/artists mainly say stuff like that with remakes because they look at their past work and only see what they could have done better, same thing happened with the SH2 Remake
@ClarkeIssa51756@Joshuamaddocks1@neverfadeaway_1 Except it was handled by the same director and had a very clear reason to exist, it wasn't a cash-in on hype culture like the modern RE engine remakes
@ClarkeIssa51756@Joshuamaddocks1@neverfadeaway_1 It doesn't really compliment anything, it just adds artificial difficulty to the game for the sake of realism. Snappy and responsive movement is much superior. Not to mention, RE4R is yet again game that just leeches off the foundation of a 2005 classic, not much to praise
@ClarkeIssa51756@Joshuamaddocks1@neverfadeaway_1 Not really, they just copy-and-pasted the RNG based mechanic for headshots from RE2R and added movement inerthia, that's a downgrade compared to the snappy movement and gunplay of the original. There's even a 16 hours long video detailing why
@ClarkeIssa51756@Joshuamaddocks1@neverfadeaway_1 There really isn't much that is superior about the RE engine remakes, just a blueprint which has been overdone to death aka over-the-shoulder horror/action games.. they feel like tech demos and less ambitious than their original counterparts
@cathyareborn afaik Guard was some gimmicky tower defense game to show off the Gamepad which just ended up being renamed to SF Guard and bundled up with Zero, man Miyamoto sure loves attaching the Star Fox brand to random prototypes π
@jondrawz People are setting themselves up for disappointment, this model has been used for both games and promotional material/merchandise since 2005/2008, it's here to stay
@ClarkeIssa51756@neverfadeaway_1 They pretty much just took the RE engine and a generic OTS camera system and shoehorned them onto RE2, Mr X isn't really impressive, it's a generic stalker enemy and nothing more since they already did something similar with Jack Baker in the previous entry aka re7
@ClarkeIssa51756@neverfadeaway_1 There isn't, re2r was a spite project because modders were remaking re2 themselves and capcom probably saw it as a potential revenue loss (also they cut plenty of content from the original + added a half assed B scenario) and RE4R was entirely a cash-in relying on hype culture
@ClarkeIssa51756@neverfadeaway_1 By valid reason to exist means if a remake is made with an artistic intent in mind vs a remake made purely to cash in on hype/the popularity of a game. RE4R is the prime example of the latter, it's a cash-grab nobody asked for made to leech off of RE4's legacy
