When Holy cow takes over the chair, this is what meant to happen!

When Portugal take the field, they do not merely wear a jersey. They wear an era and that era is Cristiano Ronaldo’s
Football is often cruel to legends. It judges them not by what they have given, but by what they can still give. One goalless game becomes evidence of decline. One disappointing draw becomes an indictment of an entire career. Yet, if football history has taught us anything, it is that Cristiano Ronaldo’s legacy with Portugal cannot be measured by a single night in Houston or by a temporary scoring drought. Because before Ronaldo, Portugal were talented dreamers. With Ronaldo, they became believers.
When the young Cristiano made his international debut in August 2003, Portugal had never won a major international trophy. Their golden generation of Luís Figo and Rui Costa had dazzled Europe but left empty-handed. In the 100-plus years of Portuguese football before Ronaldo, the nation had reached only one World Cup semi-final and one European Championship final.
Then came Cristiano Ronaldo. Twenty-three years later, Portugal is one of world football’s modern powerhouses, and no player in international football history has contributed more to his nation than Ronaldo has to Portugal.

Tarique Rahman recreated his father Ziaur Rahman’s famous Guard of Honour scene during a visit in Malaysia.
The moment drew attention as it reflected a symbolic tribute to the former Bangladeshi leader. Supporters described it as a nostalgic and emotional gesture.
Bangladesh goes neutral: Tarique Rahman chooses Kuala Lumpur as his first foreign stop — not Delhi, not Beijing.
Smart third-way diplomacy. Remittances, trade & worker welfare first. Then Beijing for jobs & investment.Geography still matters with India, but “Bangladesh First” means options, not alignment. Pragmatism over posturing.
Economic recovery > regional rivalry.

Forcing people including women and children across the border without proper verification, due process or formal repatriation procedures is unacceptable. No person should be left stranded in no man’s land, exposed to fear, uncertainty and humiliation.
If India has concerns over illegal immigration, those claims must be addressed through lawful verification, bilateral dialogue and established repatriation mechanisms not through coercion by border forces.
Bangladesh has rightly maintained that any return or deportation must follow proper procedures and respect human dignity. Border management cannot become a tool of racial profiling or anti-Muslim hostility.
A stable Bangladesh–India relationship requires trust, restraint and respect for international law. These unlawful “push-ins” must stop immediately.
16 June: A Black Day for the Press
On this day in 1975, Sheikh Mujibur Rahman shut down all newspapers except four that were loyal to his government. This was an unprecedented event in the history of independent journalism.
By silencing the media, Sheikh Mujib chose the path of fascism to ensure uninterrupted one-party BAKSAL rule.
Even today, this day reminds us that taking away media freedom means taking away the people’s right to know.
On this Black Day for the Press, we condemn that incident from the past and hope that no government in the future will ever dare to use the media as a tool for control, domination, or suppression of dissent.

Not Poetry About Shared Skies, But Answers to Border Realities
Upon arriving in Bangladesh, India’s new High Commissioner, Dinesh Trivedi, chose emotional and political rhetoric over diplomatic restraint. Statements such as “the same sky, the same air,” “I feel like I am Bangladeshi,” and references to a combined population of “1.6 billion people” sound more like the words of a politician than those of a diplomat.
Bangladesh is an independent and sovereign nation. Friendship between the two countries should be built on mutual respect, equality, and adherence to established diplomatic norms.
At a time when unresolved issues such as border push-ins, visa restrictions, trade barriers, and the loss of Bangladeshi lives in incidents involving the BSF continue to generate concern, practical solutions are needed far more than poetic expressions.
The people of Bangladesh are not looking for emotional slogans. They expect a dignified, balanced, and respectful bilateral relationship based on actions rather than rhetoric.
There is no ultimate promise in politics!
