@Brent_Hobbs The women always bounce back. This is just another walk around the block. Being yeeted or yeeting ourselves from a denomination opens new opportunity.
@linzwilliams@aaron_renn That’s a good point, but “I don’t know” followed by “living into complexities” lands as decent people struggling under weak leadership, and thinking that this is all there is when perhaps that’s not the case.
I’ll exit now because no one likes it when the women start thinking.
@brittyknows@mckaycoppins@ANNELAMOTT@TheAtlantic I read this as that intense greeting that people who have limited exposure to women call “yelling” but is more…. Spleeny. We’re carthatically handing our word children to another adult. “Look what I made!”
This note, which Julia Ward Howe wrote when she submitted Battle Hymn of the Republic to @TheAtlantic, is roughly how every writer I know at the magazine still files a piece. https://t.co/xrgTq5fnIf
I missed the highest marks in my last research project because I used too many contractions, and my Spanish and Russian have ruined my English.
I didn't care. I'm so grateful for mottled grammar shaped by love across languages.
@thescottbarber Is this going to be a dog inclusive congregation? If so, I’m down. Also please start in silence not singing for those of us for whom singing is not peak.
@CAHutch1990 There are may Thomas Christians in Raleigh. A good friend of mine from college is a Thomas Christian and I’ve met several at seminary. I would add the past of the church is also not western. These days it’s also becoming polycentric.
@RevIanHard Everyone should be required to take academic rhetoric/discourse. Most of it is learning to be in conversation with others and learning that there are 200+ ways of saying “yikes…No” with kindness and professional warmth. It’s been tremendous for me to learn more of this.
@Chris_Segroves Canadians also get to talk. That’s called freedom of speech in America. The other part of freedoms of speech is ignoring and scrolling.
